Automobile Association BelAZ released another "monster". The new truck is considered the largest in the post-Soviet space and one of the largest in the world. BelAZ-75600 is a huge dump truck designed for work in quarries, in addition, it is actively used at the Kuzbass mine. The width of the car is 9.2 meters, length - 14.5 m, height - 7.2 m. With such dimensions, the giant has a mass of 250 tons, and its carrying capacity is designed for 320 tons.
Powertrain Overview
The truck in question is equipped with a Cummins QSK 78-C diesel powerplant. Its power is three and a half thousand horsepower with a couple of thousand revolutions per minute, there is a pneumatic starter starter system. Engine capacity is 78 liters. The cooling unit is equipped with an adjustable impeller, which makes it possible to operate the car in the heat and at sub-zero temperatures.
The rubbing parts are supplied with oil by a full-flow filtration system with four pumping units. The power unit of the BelAZ-75600 is equipped with electronics, which minimizes the human factor in monitoring its functioning modes.
With this volume and power, the motor consumes relatively little fuel. In terms of 1 kW of power, about 200 grams of fuel is consumed. The volume of the fuel tank allows you to run smoothly for 16 hours. A traction generator with a capacity of more than 2.5 thousand kW is driven by a motor and is designed to feed a pair of Siemens electric motors with a total capacity of 2,400 kW.
Chassis
BelAZ-75600, the size of which is comparable with a three-story house, is equipped with a spatial type frame made of sheet alloyed steel elements of high strength. Cast parts reinforce the structure at maximum loads. Despite the impressive dimensions, the dump truck can deploy on a 33-meter platform. This is possible due to the short base, providing good maneuverability.
The Belarusian giant has a standard basic formula - four wheels, a pair of which is the leading one. The front axle is equipped with a dependent suspension with a pneumohydraulic unit. The rear-wheel drive uses a lever assembly with a central hinge. This design provides high truck stability and ease of control. Compared with analogues, the dynamic load on the driver is reduced by 2-3 times.
Other data
BelAZ-75600 dump truck brakes consist of a pair of hydraulic circuits, and this also applies to the parking block. The locking system also involves traction motors that switch to the generator mode and act on the cooling of the braking resistors. In an emergency, the parking brake and the working circuit of the main unit are applied .
From 140 to 200 cubic meters of slag or rock are placed in the car body, depending on the degree of loading. An additional safety is provided by a massive visor. The cabin is designed for two people, meets all the standards of ergonomics and safety. A video review system and a convenient control system are provided. Three pedals are installed, but instead of the usual clutch, a brake retarder is installed here. Also, cruise control monitors the speed control on the descent. The sensors of the speedometer and engine speed are lit on the display. Each tubeless wheel of the car in question weighs about eight tons; a special loader-manipulator is required for its installation.

BelAZ-75600, the technical characteristics of which are simply unrealistic to compare with domestic trucks, is intended for the transportation of minerals, quarries and other bulk cargoes outside public roads.

In the BelAZ-75600 line there are two more modifications that differ in engines and carrying capacity. The following is a brief overview of each of them:
- Model 75601. The truck is capable of transporting up to 360 tons of cargo, equipped with a MTU 20V400 power plant. Power - 2.8 thousand kW, Kato rotary type generator. The engine and wheels are coupled through a combination of an electric motor and a two-row planetary gearbox. The systems are integrated in the rear wheels, equipped with 59/80 R63 tires. The full weight of the truck reaches 610 thousand kg, the cargo volume is 218 cubic meters. The maximum acceleration of a car is 64 km / h.
- Option 75602. The largest dump truck of this series can carry cargo weighing 360 tons, it has a diesel engine 1 TB330-2GA03, which allows you to transport increased weight. The developers, in addition, managed to reduce fuel consumption to 198 g / kW per hour.
Verification in action
BelAZ-75600, whose characteristics are not suitable for ordinary roads, can be tested exclusively in the field, or rather, at its usual workplace. Even deliveries of these cars are carried out by rail in a disassembled form or by cargo aircraft.
Getting started on this "monster" is not so difficult. It is enough to switch the toggle switch to the “forward” position, press the gas and release the hand brake. The cabin in comparison with the general exterior looks quite small. In fact, it is double, equipped with rollover protection and air conditioning. The car starts moving smoothly, absolutely no jerks and obstacles are felt. It’s not easy to get used to the dimensions of such a giant.
The steering is soft and light thanks to the excellent power steering. An electric transmission eliminates the need to activate diesel maneuvering in the repair zone, two brake pedals are responsible for timely braking, cruise control helps on the descent. The standard disc brake is used for a final stop, and the main function is performed by the retarder. The car perfectly enters sharp turns, despite its dimensions.
Conclusion
The huge BelAZ-75600 dump truck, the photo of which is posted above, is rightfully the largest truck in the CIS. The car is in demand at mine workings; it is capable of transporting more than three hundred tons of cargo at a time. As a rule, such units are operated to the maximum in order to work out their cost, which exceeds a million dollars per unit.
The car in question is a direct competitor among similar "monsters" at the global level. Moreover, this applies to both dimensions, carrying capacity and price. There are not so many similar trucks in the world. All of them are involved in heavy industries and interact with the same powerful and impressive excavators and loaders.
