Today, every residential building has a sewage system. If earlier suburban areas were distinguished by the presence of a cesspool with a wooden house above it, now such structures have remained in the past. Fortunately, various options for arranging sewage systems allow a more civilized solution to the existing problem.
Anyone can install a sewer. The main thing is to know a few rules that will help you quickly cope with the task. Experts note that the quality of the project (primarily) depends on the proper installation of sewer pipes. First of all, you must be able to calculate the slope of the sewer. The success of the work performed depends on the value of this parameter. Remember that sewer slope is not a constant. The value of this indicator is calculated for each individual system, and sometimes for some of its sections. The value of the quantity itself depends on the velocity of the fluid.
The slope of the pipe must be done in the direction of the sewer riser, adhering to the optimum: from 4 to 7 cm / linear m. Too small a slope of the sewage system or too large threatens with frequent clogging of the sewer system. To avoid such problems, the bias must be done within acceptable values, focusing on a specific case.
Be sure to consider that plastic sewage has the property of deforming or sagging, and this affects the slope of the sewer, reducing its value. Pay attention to the fact that in new buildings over time the foundation settles, which also significantly affects the slope of the sewer system. Experts say that the minimum slope of the sewage system (its horizontal section) should not exceed 2.0 cm / linear m. Only with such a value does the process of self-purification of waste water fully work.
With a long horizontal section of sewage (more than 10 meters), the slope should be increased to 4 cm / linear m. If you do not stick to this value, the likelihood of clogging of the pipe increases due to lack of wastewater and low flow rate.
Also, experts recommend carefully monitoring the number of turns and joints in the sewage system. You must be aware that any junction or turn is a potential place for the system to leak or clog.
There are other subtleties of the sewage installation process:
โข it is allowed to join several types of pipes;
โข installation of plastic sewers requires the use of grease;
โข all joints should be firmly in contact with each other;
โข the horizontal section of the system should not go into the riser at a right angle;
โข mandatory access to the sewer riser is made easy.
Connecting to a centralized sewage system is the easiest way to dispose of wastewater from any living area. But there are rare exceptions when you have to resort to more complex methods of solving the problem (we are talking about installing a special pump, which is a "forced" device to remove drains from the house).
As a rule, a sewage pump is installed only when the outlet from the house is below the point of connection to the centralized system. In this case, a special pressure system is required, consisting of three components: a storage well, a forced sewage pump and connecting pipes.
Consider the main advantages of a forced cleaning system. First of all, the construction of forced sewage does not take much time, effort and significantly saves the budget. Also, such systems do not require a constant angle of inclination of the pipes.
