Feeding children - how to avoid mistakes

Feeding children is an introduction to the baby's menu of new products, in addition to breast milk and mixtures.

According to the rules of modern medicine, complementary foods introduced now from six months. It is necessary for the child to form a chewing reflex, which in the future will contribute to correct speech. It will also expand the range of nutritional nutrients and fiber that are absent in breast milk and mixtures. Nutrition of children is also needed in order to accustom the baby to solid and dense food and a gradual transition to an adult type of nutrition.

If a child is poorly gaining weight in the absence of any disease, he quickly experiences a feeling of hunger, or his mother decreases the amount of breast milk - this is an indication for the introduction of complementary foods.

However, the following rules exist:

  1. Lure is administered from six months only to a healthy child. Also, do not introduce complementary foods in the heat.
  2. If the child has a mass deficit, milk-cereal cereals are first introduced, if, on the contrary, the excess is mashed vegetables.
  3. At six months, you can enter 2 foods, at seven - 3, from the ninth to twelfth - 4.
  4. Feeding is given before breastfeeding or mixtures from a spoon, each new product is administered with small doses.
  5. Up to ten months they are breast-fed or mixed, after ten months they are not breast-fed.
  6. Each new product must be monocomponent, for better absorption it can be diluted with milk, the next new product can not be introduced earlier than 2 weeks after the introduction of the previous one.
  7. Children can be fed only with freshly prepared products, without adding any spices. Do not force the child to eat by force.
  8. After the introduction of a certain product, you need to carefully monitor the condition of the child, his skin and stool.

Milk and cereal cereals are introduced from six months with a lack of weight in the child. Complementary feeding of infants begins with 50-100 ml, gradually increasing the volume, in ten months it should be about 200 ml. To make porridge, buckwheat, rice, oatmeal cooked in baby milk or in a mixture are suitable.

With vegetable purees and soups, they begin if the child has an excess of weight. Of vegetables, potato, cabbage and squash are ideal, after eight months you can give pumpkin and beets. After seven months, soups are boiled in meat broth in the same volume as cereals.

Meat products can be given from six and a half to seven months. Suitable veal, turkey, chicken and rabbit meat, which must be cooked in the form of minced meat, from seven months - in the form of meatballs, from nine months - steam cutlets. At first, meat is given 2-3 times a week, over time it can be up to 5-6 times. Start with 5-20 grams, gradually increasing the mass to 60 grams in twelve months. Up to three years, the child should not be given sausages, sausage and liver.

Curd is introduced, like meat, from six and a half to seven months. Cottage cheese needs to be prepared independently, using sourdough or baby milk.

Yolk (hard-boiled) is given to a child from seven months, starting from 1/8.

Fruit purees can be used as complementary foods for children up to a year, starting from six months. At first, they should be one-component, it is better to start with apple.

Juices are introduced from six and a half months, at first a few drops a day, start with apple, then give carrot. Juices must be entered carefully, you can not start with orange or grape juices, add sugar to them and quench their thirst.

Both butter and sunflower oil can be given from six months, starting with half a teaspoon. The amount of oil in the future should not exceed one teaspoon.

Wheat bread is given from eight to nine months, 5-10 grams, gradually increasing the rate.

The fish is introduced into the lure of children from nine to ten months - no more than once a week. Fish can only be given river, because marine is very allergenic.
