They are able to extract jewelry from mountain ranges, as well as to smelting metals. It is to the dwarves that other races turn when they need to equip an army for war. But the little old people are grumpy. They do not like strangers and especially people. Distrust of other races among the dwarves is justified. Their treasuries robbed more than once. For this reason, the dwarves keep their jewelry deep in the mountains, where a person of large stature cannot penetrate. The main enemies of the little old people are dragons and trolls. And if the first creatures are considered quite reasonable and hunt for treasures, then the second race is no different in mind and therefore exterminates the gnomes.
Origin
As stated above, gnomes are mythical creatures, so their origin is also mythical. The creator of the gnomes, according to J.R. R. Tolkien, is the Mahal. He created seven forefathers in the depths of the mountains. But the Mahal was not entitled to grant life to his creations. Therefore, he left them to live in the Ardu Mountains. Dwarves were created before the elves, but such a sequence of rulers seemed unfair. Therefore, little people were put to bed until the elves were created and then woken up. After all, it was the white-haired witty creatures that should have the honorable status of the first-born. But judging by justice, the Dwarves were one of the first peoples to inhabit the planet, albeit in a sleeping state.
Character
The term "gnomes" is associated with a nasty character and constant grunts. But this is not so. Dwarves are good-natured creatures. They can find a common language not only with many races, but also with animals and birds. There are legends about the tricks of the dwarves. Endowed with a sharp mind and good memory, little men are capable of doing great things. Dwarves are notorious inventors and creators. But they never record their discoveries, nor do they attach special importance to them. Improving your own life is the main task of any representative of the fairy race. Legends go about humor of gnomes. Little men love to drink and tell some interesting tales. Jokes and jokes fly constantly from the lips of gnomes. But such jokes are not to everyone's taste. Someone may consider them vulgar, and someone - inappropriate. Dwarves are not shy about themselves. They have confidence both in their rightness and in their strength. The eyes have different shades, and the eyebrows are so shaggy that sometimes they prevent the dwarf from looking at the world. Ears also do not differ in beauty. They bulge strongly, and the stubble on them looks repulsive. The hair on the head can be of different colors. All gnomes are very tough and naughty.
The hands of the dwarves are long, and the fingers are hooked. But the repulsive appearance does not prevent the limbs from being agile and dexterous. The gnome's body and legs are thin. The feet are too long and narrow. The general proportions of the body of the gnomes are aligned with clothing. They often wear armor, which makes them visually more deflated. Fairy-tale characters choose trousers and shirts of bright colors from clothes. Green, yellow, red and blue are the favorite shades of gnomes.

After that, frequent conflicts began to arise between the two races, which eventually grew into real hatred.

What does a dwarf mean? Shorty, dwarf or little old man. Such interpretations of this people can be heard quite often. Dwarves do not take offense at this. And in what language do small creatures communicate with each other? The ancient Khuzdul language was invented by the creator of the dwarves. This language was known not only by dwarfs, not even elves and people. It is thanks to a common language that the three races were able to freely communicate with each other until they began to be at enmity. Language is not a constant; it is constantly changing and developing. This trend is close to the Dwarves, but they still change their minds with an eye on their neighbors so that the connection between the races does not disappear forever. And among themselves in the presence of strangers, dwarfs communicate using sign language.
Endurance
The creator of the gnomes made sure that his creations lived as long as possible. Dwarfs are not afraid of anything. They are not afraid of fire, heavy rains or piercing winds. Yes, weather events can be a little nuisance, and that’s all. The dwarves will not change plans, even if something unimaginable happens on the street. Diseases bypass dwarfs. All of their allotted 250-300 years dwarves do not know any misfortunes. Of course, fabulous creatures are not immortal. They can be killed with any melee weapon. But it will be difficult to do. Dwarves are good warriors. They can stand up for themselves, have incredible stamina, courage and cunning. All this helps the dwarfs to win. But if one of the gnomes dies in battle, then all his acquaintances, friends and relatives will avenge him. Blood feud for dwarves is a common thing.
Relationship with strangers
Dwarves are friendly creatures. But most residents of mythical worlds think differently. They are sure that the dwarfs are evil, insidious, they like to make meanness and rob the honest townspeople. If you think about it, it becomes clear that the statement is saturated with slander. The people cannot have so many shortcomings. Why is this opinion formed? Envy is characteristic of living beings, and dwarves have something to envy. This friendly people lives in peace and harmony with each other, and the gnomes are incredibly rich. Neighbors do not like dwarfs and do not want to enter their territory. Dwarves, on the other hand, usually greet everyone who comes to visit them. The only exceptions are dragons, elves, trolls, and partially humans. The dwarves do not trust the representatives of these races. Dwarfs do not like to travel, but if there is such a need, they will go. In other cities, they will be cold, due to the prevailing stereotype. But whoever is always happy with the dwarves is the hobbits.

What most often gets to the table with the dwarves? Dwarfs feed on what they can find in the forest. It is believed that gnomes are vegetarians. They are in excellent relations with animals living in the forest, and do not intend to kill them in order to satisfy their needs. Therefore, the main diet of fabulous creatures consists of nuts, peas, mushrooms, berries, apples and fruits. Also, the dwarves can cook potatoes and do not neglect the addition of spices. What do the dwarves drink? To quench their thirst, dwarfs drink dew. But on holidays, merry little men prefer to drink mead or tinctures from berries.
Are there gnomes among humans?

Such persons have no doubt that myths, legends and fairy tales are written from real-life characters. Reflecting on the question of whether there are gnomes, we can say that there were always dwarfs among representatives of the human race.
