At the end of 2000, the Taganrog Automobile Plant signed a contract with the Chinese concern Jianghuai Automobile for the supply and sale of an off-road vehicle JAC Rein to Russia. After some time, the leadership of the domestic automobile manufacturer decided to launch the release of JAC Rein with a slightly different design and under its own name - TagAZ C190.
