Story
In 1870, barracks were built in Yekaterinodar, the 64th battalion from the city of Stavropol was transferred here. In early August 1874 he was given the name Catherine Local Battalion. In 1883 he was renamed Kuban. In different years, various military facilities were created on this territory:
- Anapa Reserve Battalion.
- Samur regiment.
- Anti-aircraft artillery school of the Red Army.
- Krasnodar artillery and mortar school.
- Higher command-military school of missile forces.
The latter was eliminated in August 1998. And in 2010, the Minister of Defense decided to build new buildings here for the cadet school in Krasnodar. On September 1, 2012, the Krasnodar Cadet Presidential School was opened in the Southern Federal District. The educational institution was set a goal - the education of diverse young people who in the future will be able to constitute a patriotic, intellectual elite of our country.

The Cadet School is a pre-university general educational institution of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In this educational institution, all the conditions for full training are created:
