Singer and songwriter Sergei Mazaev is a person very noticeable in Russia. He is not only a musician and soloist of the Moral Codex group, but also an actor who has accounted for more than twenty projects, as well as the head of the production and recording company Mazai Communications. In 2011, the Sergei Mazayev Pop Orchestra was created - a unique group on the Russian stage, uniting musicians playing in different styles. The childhood and youth of the artist
Sergey Mazaev is a native Muscovite, born on December 7, 1959. Since childhood, the boy was fond of music, and at the age of six he received an invitation to take part in film screenings for the filming of the film, but he did not receive the role. He studied at the physics and mathematics school, but gravitated more to creativity and from the age of eleven began to engage in vocals and playing the saxophone and clarinet. Later he graduated from the clarinet music school, then continued his studies in Gnesinka.
After graduating from college, the future artist joined the army and served in a music company. With the Moscow garrison orchestra took part in three Victory Parades on Red Square. Upon returning from the army, Sergey Mazaev began to doubt that he could be realized as a musician, and entered the Moscow State University at the Faculty of Economics, but could not finish his studies - he preferred creativity.
Career development
In 1979, Mazaev appeared on television in the film "The meeting place cannot be changed," where he played a saxophonist performing at the Astoria restaurant.
In the 1980s, he focused on music, along with the rock band Autograph, released two albums, Tear Down the Border and Stone Edge. Also, the biography of Sergey Mazaev contains facts about participation in other musical groups: “Hello, song”, “Musical semester”, “Ball lightning”.
Code of Ethics
In 1989, the artist became the soloist of a rock band assembled by composer and poet Pavel Zhagun. The Moral Code group was conceived by him as a project that released both witty and philosophical fateful compositions. In addition to Sergei Mazaev, the team included guitarists Alexander Solich and Nikolai Devlet-Kildeev.
In 1990, keyboardist Konstantin Smirnov joined the group. And in the same year, the first clip of the Code of Ethics for the song “I Love You” was released. Then the second video “Goodbye, Mom!” Appeared, and the guys won public acclaim. Soon, the release of the first album, Concussion, took place.
In subsequent years, the team toured throughout Russia and Europe, recorded songs. The second disc, entitled “Flexible Mill”, was released in 1996, and the third “I Choose You” was released in 1997. In 1999, the sound engineer of the group died, which caused a temporary decline. The Moral Code released its next disc in 2001. From 2007 to 2014, three more discs were released.
In 2017, the group celebrated its 25th anniversary, in honor of which concerts took place in March and April at the Concert Hall Oktyabrsky and Crocus City Hall.
Filming and solo projects
In 1993, Sergey Mazaev received a minor role in "Old Songs about the Essentials", and then took part in two sequels of the musical film. In 1997, he starred in Pinocchio's Newest Adventures as the cat Basilio.
In 2002, the artist appeared on the screens in the drama by I. Dykhovichny “Kopeyka”, then there were shootings in the films “Open, Santa Claus!”, “Inhabited Island”, “Carnival Night-2”, “Radio Day”.
In 2013, Sergey Mazaev starred in the video of Timati GQ, he also participated in the recording of the composition. The singer also collaborated with other musicians: he recorded tracks with Alexander Barykin and Brigade S, Natalya Vetlitskaya and Igor Butman. Alongside developed jazz projects with Igor Matvienko and Yuri Tsaler.
Currently, the artist continues to perform both as part of the Moral Code group and solo. He takes part in various programs and television shows.
Personal life
Sergey Mazaev is married, he has four children. The wife of the musician - Galina - is eighteen years younger than him, works as a journalist and editor of GQ magazine. The eldest son Ilya from his first marriage graduated from Moscow State University and became a scientist. But in his spare time he also devotes himself to creativity, plays in a musical group. In his second marriage, Sergey had two more children - daughter Anna, now she is 18 years old, and son Peter, he is 9 years old.
On November 3, 2018, on the air of the Secret to a Million program, Mazayev admitted that he still has an illegitimate daughter Natalya, born in 1999 from a woman from Ukraine, with whom the singer had a fleeting romance. Now the girl is 19 years old, she bears the name of her father, lives in the United States and studies at the film academy.
