The name of Bernard Kaznev is well known in the international political arena. He began his career in the nineties of the last century and to this day is a significant figure in French politics. From April 2014 to December 2016, Bernard Kaznev served as Minister of the Interior. As a close associate of Francois Hollande, he was appointed Prime Minister of France. But he stayed in this post for only 5 months: from December 2016 to mid-May 2017.
Teens politics
The parents of the now famous politician came from Algeria. They left their homeland since the war for independence began there. The choice of France as a country for emigration was not accidental, since the parents were of French origin. Bernard Kaznev was born on June 2, 1963 in the city of Senlis, which is located in the Hautes-de-France region. His father Gerard was an activist of the socialist party.
When Bernard Kaznev turned 10 years old, he first attended a political event - a rally by Francois Mitterrand. This happened in the city of Creil, where the Kaznev family moved in the late 60s. My father was a teacher at the Jean Bondi School. Bernard also studied here. He continued his studies at the Descartes School. After that was Havez College and Lyceum Jules Uri. He graduated from the Institute for Political Studies (Bordeaux). After graduation, he held the position of legal adviser.
During his student days he was the head of the Left Radical Movement (1983) in the Gironde, a department located in the southwestern part of France.
Professional activity
The track record of Bernard Kaznev is quite large:
- In the period from 1991 to 1993 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has held various posts.
- During 1994-1998 he was the chief legal adviser in the Department of the English Channel.
- Bernard Kaznev managed to visit the mayor (1995-2012). Initially, he held this post in the city of Octeville - the Department of the English Channel. Then, since 2001, he was mayor of Cherbourg-Octeville, after the unification of the communes.
- He was a deputy of the National Assembly from 1997 to 2002. After that, he was re-elected twice more - in 2007, as well as in 2012.
- He worked in the government of Jean-Marco Herault (2012-2013) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was a junior minister.
- Since April 2013 he was a junior budget minister. He held this post for one year.
He was appointed Minister of the Interior on April 2, 2014. At this point, the current Prime Minister was Manuel Waltz. He held this position until December 2016.

After Manuel Waltz decided to run for president, he resigned as prime minister. And on December 6, 2016, a person from the government - Minister Bernard Kaznev was appointed to this post.
The new prime minister stayed at his post a little more than 5 months. In early February, he said that he had no intention of participating in the parliamentary elections, which were supposed to be held in June 2017.
What remembered the premiership of Kaznev? In March, protests took place in the overseas department of Guiana. In connection with these events, Bernard Kaznev made a statement that a specially created interdepartmental commission, the purpose of which is to settle the socio-economic problems of this region, will go there only if public order is restored. Already on April 5, the government approved investment projects aimed at solving the problems of the overseas department. Funds in the amount of 1.86 billion euros were allocated, some of which were intended to strengthen law enforcement and prison structures. After negotiations between the authorities and the leaders of the protest movements, on April 21, it was decided to additionally allocate 2.1 billion euros to this region.

In April, after the loss of the representative of the socialist party in the presidential election was predetermined, Kaznev was instructed to begin preparations for the party bloc to participate in the parliamentary elections held in June 2017.
The end of a political career
After Macron's victory in the presidential election, Bernard Kaznev resigned as prime minister. 5 days later (May 15, 2017), Edouard Philippe took this post.
After retiring from politics, Bernard engaged in private law practice, opening his own bureau. He also wrote the book “Every Day Counts” and in the fall of 2017 traveled to various regions of France to conduct an advertising campaign.
A family
Little is known about politics’s personal life. Bernard Kaznev is raising two children with his wife Veronika. For some period, the couple divorced, but in 2015 they again converged. The secret re-marriage ceremony took place on August 12 in Aegina.
