The commandments of Christ appeared centuries ago, but they can be called relevant even today. Initially, they were all written literally, that is, it was not necessary to fantasize in order to understand their real meaning. Today, only a few are focused on direct interpretation. The rest should be interpreted. However, they - as a classic, have always been and will be.
All the commandments of Christ are often compared with the laws of nature. This means that they are not only elements that should be adhered to and cannot be violated, but also complement each other. On the one hand, they help to find the soul, fill it with virtues and abandon various temptations, instincts that were previously inherent in man. And on the other hand, they help people to find a moral foundation, so that they help relatives not because they need to do this or will be paid for it, but on their own.
10 commandments of Jesus Christ:room | Description | Value |
one | In the first commandment, the Lord calls for him to be the only God, and there is no substitute for him. | Despite the fact that the Lord here rather selfishly approached the description of himself, the true meaning of the commandment is that a person must understand himself and find the physical and mental foundation of activity |
2 | It is urged not to look for idols for itself | The spelling of this commandment of Christ is oriented at a time when paganism was sensually a disease of all mankind. And then it had to be understood literally. Today, idols have changed significantly, they have become wealth, fame or, for example, science. However, the creation of an idol does not lead to anything good, neither earlier nor today. |
3 | Encouraged not to use the name of the Lord for nothing, for nothing | Based on this commandment, it becomes clear that the name of God cannot be used where it is simply inappropriate. It can be jokes, exclamations or even curses |
four | It is urged to spend six days in labor, and one to devote to rest | Like God himself, man was instructed to work most of his time, but do not forget about rest. At least once a week, you need to take time for yourself |
5 | Encouraged by the veneration of parents | Although parents are indicated in this commandment of Christ, it should be understood not only literally. The fact is that with its help, the Lord wanted to call people to respect all who surround them, regardless of age, gender or race |
6 | Calls for refusal to kill | You can not take life from another person, regardless of the number of sins or malice. God gives life to people, and do not put yourself in his place to control the fate of others |
7 | Encouraged to Forgo Adultery | The commandment is not intended at all to abandon procreation. Today its interpretation refers to fidelity. That is, the two spouses cannot be cheated on each other, you should resist the temptation |
8 | Urged to Avoid Theft | The commandment describes that a person should be content only with what he has, or that he has earned on his own. You canβt take someone elseβs |
9 | Calls for rejection of gossip and false accusations | Any liar is called an unworthy Christian. This is due to the fact that lies are behavior that cannot be attributed to virtues such as respect and love. |
10 | Encouraged to give up envy | You cannot be jealous of what another person has. The Lord says that all people need to independently come to the fulfillment of their desires, and if one could achieve something, then only zeal helped him in this, but not envy |

It is impossible to single out the most important commandments of Jesus Christ, since they are all equal to each other. If a person takes the time to resist the temptation of adultery, but does not respect his parents, relatives, friends or neighbors, then we can say that he does not adhere to the laws of Christianity in general. It should be noted that the commandments are spelled out quite briefly, of course, they restrict people, but to a greater extent leave them complete freedom. Only a person himself has the right to choose the sphere of his activity, profession and all other elements that will make up his life.
