The skill of the artist Dmitry Kustanovich
In contemporary art, a landscape painter has gained the status of the inventor of his personal author's method - spatial realism. Using a palette knife, he applies a large amount of paint to the base, creating multilayer images. Such a technique allows you to create the very effect of space, for which critics and art lovers around the world appreciate it so much.
Despite the many layers, with the help of a palette knife you can achieve the fineness of lines, which Kustanovich perfectly mastered over 10 years of constant work.
The presence of musical talent in the artist is reflected in his work: the composition of the compositions is rhythmic, and the color palette is similar to the variety of sounds of notes. Even Vitaly Tretyakov himself noted the depth of images in the paintings of this author.
Artist Dmitry Kustanovich is the one who was able to break out of a limited plane.
Interesting fact. The author consciously creates a composition that shows fragments of nature or the city as if they were simply snatched from the temporary stream of life. Instead of clear contours, the boundaries remain blurred in space.
Theme
Since Dmitry’s homeland is Belarus, his many works are connected with this country. His favorite stories are roofs of houses, narrow streets and overgrown branches of trees, native places. All paintings by the artist Dmitry Kustanovich are saturated with emotional content.
It was in his homeland that the author began to create such famous series of paintings as “Butterflies”, “City Rains” and “Glass”.
City landscape
In a series of city landscapes of St. Petersburg, the compositional task is to show the life of the city at completely different times of the year and day. The entire color palette consists of light but cold tones that perfectly characterize the climate. The paintings convey well the architectural features of the cultural capital.
Nature image
The theme of the sea landscape is far from the last among the master. The paintings of the artist Dmitry Kustanovich are able to come to life, as the author does work with a variety of shades, creating the effect of an incredibly tangible space.
In a series of paintings entitled “Winter Etude in the Village”, Kustanović creates a simple composition with the help of calm palette colors, thus immersing the beholder in a state of peace. In most of the works in this series, the author depicts images of Russian provincial environs: a winter rural road covered with snowdrifts and cozy wooden houses saturated with heat. In the series of these studies, it is possible to clearly trace the characteristic features of Kustanovich:
- exquisitely selected tones and their combination, with the help of which light overflows of an almost untouched snow cover are transmitted;
- feeling of freshness of frosty air;
- feeling of spaciousness.
The author remained indifferent to the awakening of nature from hibernation. So, the May Garden work is filled with bright timbre (like in music notes) shades: here there are white petals with bluish, yellow, blue and red highlights, and a very juicy green color of plants. It was as if the artist himself was mentally there and felt every detail, making brush strokes.
When a person looks at the colorful painting “A ray of the evening sun in the summer forest”, it is as if the sun illuminates him. The author creates the effect of wildlife and a unique atmosphere with the help of light strokes made by vibrating brush movements. The whole landscape is illuminated by rays, the refraction of which can be seen in all the details present in the picture.
