Fruit and vegetable decoration: creative on the festive table

Today, carving is very popular in cooking, which is a curly cutting of fruits and vegetables. In restaurants of various national cuisines, such "carving" is used quite widely. But now we will not take a tour of the menu of catering points, but we will get acquainted with those ways of creating decorations from vegetables and fruits that you can easily carry out at home while preparing for the next holiday date. By the way, if your family has children, then attract them to the beautiful design of dishes - this fascinating activity contributes to the development of creative and labor skills.

Decoration of vegetables "Palm"

"Palm" can serve as an excellent decoration for any salad, for example, crab or mimosa. Put the salad in a salad bowl and slide it. It will be an "island." Take two long wooden skewers (which are usually used to make kebab or homemade barbecue). String olives on skewers to the very top - these will be the trunks of palm trees. Well, attach the foliage to the very last top olive, for which dill or parsley is suitable. "Palms" fasten on the "island".

Decoration of vegetables "Ladybugs"

Option 1. Take a medium-sized tomato, cut the top of it, but not to the very end. Also make a longitudinal section. Now cut the top into two identical parts - these will be the wings of a ladybug. Make a filling of cream cheese, finely chopped dill and parsley and a clove of garlic. Gently bend the wings, put the cooked minced meat in the middle. Spread the wings slightly. From the branches of dill, make the antennae of a ladybug, from mayonnaise - specks on the wings and draw a nose and mouth. For making an eye, a cucumber peel will go.

Option 2. Cut two cherry tomatoes in half and make 6 holes in each half. Cut circles from olives and insert into the holes - these will be specks on the back of a ladybug. In each half, make cuts - the “wings” of your edible insect. Cut a grain of canned corn across and expand the halves - these are “eyes”. Pupils make from slices of black olives. Fix the eyes on half the olive (this is the “head”). Place the “head” on the “body” of the ladybug.

Decoration of vegetables "Christmas tree"

Cut a thick circle from the cucumber and strengthen the skewer in it. From the slices of cheese slicing cut triangles and begin to string on a skewer in the form of "fir branches". Every 3-4 slices of cheese, put one olive on a skewer. Do not forget that the Christmas tree should have a triangular shape, which means that each subsequent row of pieces of cheese should be cut out in several smaller sizes. At the crown of the Christmas tree, strengthen the star cut out of red pepper.

Decoration of vegetables "Penguins"

Cut the carrots into circles and cut a small corner from each. Divide the olives into the bigger ones and the smaller ones. Cut a large olive along and stuff with soft cheese (for example, Almette) - this will be the “body”. On a smaller olive tree (“head”) put on a corner from the carrots - this is the “beak”. Assemble the penguin by first stringing the “head” on the toothpick, then the “torso”, then the “paws” (carrot circles without corners).

Radish decoration "Bees"

Cut a small slice from the radish for stability. Cut small strips across the radish (this is the “body”). On the sides, make two more cuts for the "wings". Cut two thin circles from the whole radish - these are the “wings” and insert them into the cuts. Make the eyes of the bee from pieces of olive.

Ornaments made of fruits and vegetables can also play the role of a kind of container for laying out salad. For example, you can fill a basket of orange with berries, fruit salad or ice cream, a basket of watermelon - assorted fruits. Boats made of bell pepper, avocado or pineapple, filled with salad, will look very festive and original. Good luck with your culinary fantasies!
