Unfortunately, this is far from a complete list of operational problems that accompany the Whirlwind outboard engine. Meanwhile, in skilled hands, this engine shows not only its inherently good power characteristics, but also high reliability. With a “sensible” refinement, the Whirlwind may well compete with foreign counterparts. Especially considering its incomparably lower price. Simply put, this is a good choice for those who are friends with technology. If a person cannot distinguish a carburetor from a starter, then it is better for him to choose a foreign engine, which will certainly save his nerves, and ultimately the money.
