Story
The university begins its history in 1963, then it did not yet have this status, but was called the institute. The first rectors deservedly bore the titles of heroes, were professors, doctors. In honor of the second rector, Moiseenko, the university square was named.
It is worth saying that the employees of this educational institution were also related to the production and use of Tyumen oil. With the support of the Main Directorate of Geology of Tyumen, they created a laboratory for biological and medical problems, which investigated issues related to the study of diseases of people involved in oil production and living in these areas.
They say that when the Tyumen Medical Institute became an academy in 1995, they began to associate it with the sky, on which new stars were lit. They are rightfully considered the rectors of the educational institution. This is N.F. Zhvavy, who was and is a member of the International Academy of Sciences, and E.A. Kashuba - a man who received the title of Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. It is worth saying that during its fruitful work, the institution has repeatedly confirmed its status and passed state accreditation.
Now the head of the Tyumen Medical Institute is rector I.V. Medvedeva (who was also awarded the title of Honored Scientist and is now a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences).
2013 was a significant year in the history of the academy; it celebrated its first serious anniversary (50 years since its foundation). During this time, about 25 thousand specialists, true professionals in their field, doctors with a capital letter, who achieved a lot in the medical field, became heads of medical institutions, candidates and doctors of sciences.

- Medical Faculty. It is the largest division of an educational institution.
