This holy and prayed place, which will be discussed later, is a real gem for true believers. The Goloseevskaya Desert (more correctly, the Goloseevskaya Desert) is nothing but the famous Holy Pokrovsky Monastery, located in a picturesque forest zone on the southern outskirts of the capital of Ukraine, which is primarily rich in its history and priceless shrines preserved in it.
origin of name
The name Goloseevskaya was given the name of the area according to the first version, allegedly because of the bare land on which a forest park zone was formed. And according to the second - from the word “vote”, because during the time of the invasion of the Mongol-Tatars, women who were distraught from grief came here and all together voted, thus mourning their dead relatives.
Before tackling the main questions asked by many believers, such as: “Where is the Goloseevskaya Desert?”; “How to get from metro station“ Goloseevskaya ”?” And “What is the schedule of services?” - we will plunge into history a little. After all, the Goloseevskaya Desert became the site of the monastic exploits of the Kiev saints of the XVIII-XIX centuries.
Place history
First svt. Peter Mogila (1647) bought this place he liked and laid the first man-made park, which eventually grew and merged with the forest. Later, the temple was built. John of New Sochaevsky and built a country monastery of the Lavra. In the middle of the XIX century, this picturesque monastery turned into the residence of the Kiev Metropolitans.
A new revival of the monastery began in 1845 under the Metropolitan of Kiev Filaret (Amphitheater), who somehow loved these green lands in a special way. First, he built a metropolitan house and a stone temple with limits in honor of St. John Sochaevsky and the Three Saints, since they were preceded by wooden buildings. Then the Holy Protection Church was rebuilt with chapels in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Life-giving Source". This entire complex with churches, cells, hotels, a backyard and other buildings, numbering 10 buildings, was named the Holy Intercession Desert.
Holy ascetics
In Golosievo, such locally revered saints as St. Filaret (Amphitheatres, 1857), his spiritual father Parthenius of Kiev (Krasnopevtsev, 1855) and their student St. Alexey Goloseevsky (Shepelev, 1917), as well as Christ for the sake of the holy fool Paisius (1893) and Theophilos (1893).
Pr Alexy (Shepelev) lived for more than three decades in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra and two dozen in the Goloseevskaya monastery. There is also a grave in the cemetery. He died in 1917 at the age of 76. He was a loving spiritual father who gave faith and hope of salvation to many believers.
In 1923, a new godless power abolished the monastery, and in the 30s the temples were destroyed, and the monks were evicted. At the beginning of the war, in October 1941 there were fierce battles for Kiev, the second line of defense passed through the Deserts. At the same time, nun Elena died here, saving a lot of people from hunger. She, too, is buried in the monastic cemetery of the Holosevskaya Desert.
By the 70s, almost nothing remained of the monastery. Only a part of the monastic cemetery with the grave of the prp. Alexia, but the stream of believers never stopped reaching for her.
Goloseevskaya Desert. Mother Alipia: Address
In 1979, the holy fool Nun Alipia (in the world of Avdeev Agafya Tikhonovna) settled on the ruins of the monastery’s monastery, who began to pray constantly for the revival of the monastery. She predicted its heyday.
And this contributed to the revival of such a monastery as the Goloseevskaya Desert, mother Alipiya. How to get to this place will be described a little further. I must say that mother died on October 30, 1988 and was buried at the very other end of the city of Kiev, namely at the Forest Cemetery. On May 18, 2006, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev, her honest remains were transferred to the Goloseevsky Monastery and are now in the tomb of the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “Life-giving Spring”.
In 1993, the next revival of the monastery began. On October 4 of the same year, the relics of the holy prp. Alexy Goloseevsky, who died on March 11, 1917. In 1996, the Goloseevskaya Desert received the status of an independent male monastery. Today it is fully restored and has become even more prosperous and beautiful.
Mother Alipia's Biography
The Miracle Worker was born on March 3, 1905 in the family of pious Christians Avdeev Tikhon and Vassa from the village of Vysheteley (Gorodishchensky district of the Penza province). She was named in honor of the martyr Agathia, whose icon she then carried all her life on her back.
Mother Alipia quickly learned to read and write as a child and read many sacred books. The Psalter became beloved; according to him, she prayed. Together with her parents, she often visited the village church in honor of the apostles Peter and Paul. The old woman suffered tribulations and deprivations since childhood. Her parents were shot in Civilian right before her eyes. From this moment, her wandering life in poverty began, accompanied by persecution by the authorities. She even had to be captured by S. Budyonny, who was touched by her children's tears, and he ordered the girl to be released.

However, she always relied on God, although she had to spend the night in the open air, engage in temporary part-time jobs in order to get her daily bread. For a long time, she pilgrimage to holy places, where she found her refuge, joy and reassurance. Mother Alipia for all the years of military hard times and unbelief spent about 10 years in prison. There was a case when once the Apostle Paul himself brought her out of the death row. In the Great Patriotic War she also had to endure her imprisonment in a concentration camp. She was always saved by faith in God.
Sheared
She received monastic tonsure at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. The foolishness of Christ is the most difficult monastic feat on which she labored. Her life was spent in strict fasting and constant prayer, a brief dream and constant physical labor. She was forever remembered by people silently and prayerfully deepened in herself, but infinitely loving God and her neighbors. What was surprising was the fact that it was revealed shortly after her death, that for every person she had to pray for, she hung an iron key around her neck. Towards the end of life, this “necklace” from iron keys turned into real chains.
Veneration
This great ascetic spent nine years in the Goloseevskaya monastery. She always prayed incessantly and continued the exploits of the reverend fathers of the Goloseevsky. The Lord honored her with great spiritual gifts: insight, foresight, comfort, healing, and, finally, the most important - the gift of love. She herself predicted her death. This happened on October 30, 1988. During her lifetime, she helped countless people, but even after her death, through prayer addressed to mother Alipia, real miracles and healings still occur.
Today, every day, and especially in the days of her veneration, the Goloseevskaya Desert receives thousands of people from all over the world. The Holossevsky Monastery collected countless testimonies. When the coffin with the remains of mother was brought into the temple, a cross appeared in the sky. On the same day, two seriously ill people suffering from oncology received healing.
