Tasty puffs with apples

So, buy a package of yeast-free puff pastry and a couple of apples. The dough is best taken in plates, it is more convenient to work with it. Peel the fruit, remove the core and seeds, and then cut them into cubes.

You can add raw apples to the puffs, but it will be tastier if you cook them in a special way. To do this, add a few tablespoons of butter to the pan and heat it. Then pour the chopped apples into the oil, a few tablespoons of sugar and pour half the lemon juice. Fry the apples, stirring constantly, until cooked. At the same time, make sure that the released apple juice thickens. This will take about 5 minutes. Be careful not to overdo the apples on fire, otherwise they can turn into a porridge-like, unattractive mass that will leak from puffs and burn. Let the apples cool.

While the apples are cooling, you can work with the dough. It must first be thawed. The dough is cut into squares, measuring about 10 by 10 cm, and rolled a little. Only it is necessary to roll out in only one direction so as not to damage the puff structure of the dough. Put apple filling on half of each square, cover it on top with the second half of the square. Pinch the edges to make an envelope. If you pinch the edges with a fork, then after baking they turn out to be smooth, beautiful and patterned.

In the middle of each puff with apples, make three cuts with a knife, one cm apart from each other. To make the puffs rosy, grease them with a beaten egg with sugar. If you like sweet pastries, then sprinkle puffs of sugar on top. You can also sprinkle ready-made puffs with powdered sugar.

Put future baking on a greased baking sheet. Puffs with apples are baked in a well-heated oven. Baking at a temperature of about 200 degrees will take about 10-15 minutes.

If desired, apples can be replaced with any other fruit. Such pastries with pears, peaches and apricots are very tasty.

Such puffs with jam have a great taste. The main thing is that it be pitted. Just remember that in puffs with jam it is necessary to pinch the edges especially carefully. Otherwise, the jam may leak onto the pan and burn.

The dough is kneaded from water and flour, into which cold butter is gradually added. It is worth noting that the amount of oil is equal to the amount of flour used.

Fold the dough several times and put it in the refrigerator. After about ten minutes, repeat the procedure. And so it is necessary to do at least five times.

The technology of properly prepared puff pastry requires several hours. That is why many housewives prefer not to bother, but to buy ready-made puff pastry. It is worth noting that most manufacturers make quite a good dough, from which excellent puffs with apples are obtained.
