How to cook an incredibly delicious Caesar salad with shrimp

Caesar salad with shrimp is deservedly considered one of the favorite dishes of gourmets around the world. Traditionally, such a salad is prepared with a sauce based on raw yolks, but today we suggest you try its version with a sauce based on mayonnaise, lemon juice and olive oil.

How to cook Caesar with shrimp? First, let's decide on the ingredients.

Shrimp Caesar Salad

Structure:

  • romaine lettuce or iceberg - one bunch;
  • shrimp - use the ones you like the most, of any kind and size;
  • quail eggs (you can use ordinary ones);
  • Cherry tomatoes;
  • cheese (best of all - parmesan).

For croutons:

  • bread (black or white);
  • olive oil;
  • garlic.

For the sauce:

  • mayonnaise;
  • olive oil;
  • Fresh lemon juice.
  • garlic (you can use both fresh, for a brighter and piquant taste, and baked - for a milder taste and aroma);
  • ground black and red pepper (to taste).

Shrimp cocktail salad is prepared in several stages. The first involves the direct preparation of all ingredients. The second stage is mixing, dressing salad with sauce before serving the dish. So, let's get it ready.

For yesterday’s croutons, we use yesterday’s bread - it doesn’t crumble when sliced ​​and is optimal for making croutons. Cut it into small cubes, 0.5-1 cm in size, after cutting off the rough crust. Grind a few cloves of garlic and fry them in olive oil. When the garlic gets a golden hue, carefully spread it and fry crackers in this oil. You can give the oil a pleasant garlic flavor, having previously insisted on garlic. To do this, also finely chop the garlic, fill it with olive oil and let it brew for several hours. Filter before use. Gently mixing, fry the bread over high heat. When the crackers get a golden hue, put them on a plate with a paper towel - it absorbs excess oil. Leave to cool.

Shrimp Cocktail Salad

It is impossible to cook Caesar salad with shrimp without greens, so we proceed to the salad leaves. They must be thoroughly washed from dust and dirt, and then thoroughly dried. It is very important to use dry leaves, without moisture, and pre-chilled. First, wash each leaflet separately, dry it with paper towels, then put them in the refrigerator for a while.

Sauce. Without it, it is also difficult to imagine a delicious Caesar salad with shrimp. For its preparation, it is best to use a blender - it will provide a uniform, airy and well-whipped consistency. In the blender's container, we lay all the products: mayonnaise, olive oil and lemon juice. Beat, add grated parmesan at the end. When the sauce is whipped, put it in the refrigerator to the lettuce.

Shrimp Separate the meat from the shell and fry directly during the assembly of the salad, as, cooling, the shrimp meat becomes more dense, tasting like rubber. At this stage of cooking, it is very important not to overcook the shrimp, but to remove it from the heat as soon as the meat has become opaque and has acquired a light reddish tint.

How to Make Caesar Salad with Shrimp

While the fried shrimp are cooling, we begin to "collect" our dish. In order to properly arrange Caesar salad with shrimps, we take the chilled lettuce leaves, tear them into small pieces with our hands (if they are cut with a knife, they will be bitter), put half crackers, part of the Parmesan cheese and a little sauce. Mix everything carefully. Next, put the salad on a plate, put the remaining crackers on top, cut into halves of the cherry, put them on the salad, then lay the shrimps on top and sprinkle generously with grated parmesan.
