So condoms are not a modern invention, although quality products began to be made relatively recently, in 1920.
Modern production
Initially, condoms were made from rubber and not the best method - the material was wound onto a mold, then the process of vulcanization went on. In 1912, they learned how to make seamless condoms, as they were able to make the material more plastic by adding benzene or gasoline to the rubber. And finally, in 1920, latex was invented, from which condoms are made today.
Compared to rubber, latex products are thinner and last much longer (5 years versus 3 months).
Latex is obtained from the juice of Hevea tree, and Thailand is the main producer of this material. Apparently, therefore, most of the factories for the production of these products are located in Asia.
Latex condoms are obtained by dipping forms in liquid material, followed by drying. A drop of silicone grease is added to the finished product, and in some, attention, food flavorings.
Products undergo multiple stages of verification, they carry out tests with control samples - they inflate, collect water, etc. If the percentage of rejects is large (3-5 products per 100 pieces are allowed), then the entire batch is destroyed.

What can be used instead of a condom? Yes, anything: tape, cling film, rubber gloves, bags, etc. After all, everything that is not prohibited is allowed. By the same analogy, you can jump into the window from the third floor instead of going down the stairs. Or try to kiss a feisty bulldog.
It would seem to someone that such things cannot be compared. But judging by the statistics on the spread of HIV and STDs, it’s very possible. After all, no home remedy can protect against viruses and bacteria.
However, if you want to learn how to make a condom at home, then here's a recipe from the last century: the freshest calf intestines need to be thoroughly washed and disinfected, and then kept for 24 hours in a mercuric chloride solution.
