For more than thirty years, the energy system of Yekaterinburg, which did not know modernization, received a new station. The Akademicheskaya CHPP is designed not only to solve the problem of energy shortages in a specific microdistrict of the city, but also to develop further infrastructure of the city and the region.
Modernization plan
In 2002, the Government of the Russian Federation adopted a program for the modernization of the electric power industry, the implementation of which is designed until 2020. Basic goals:
- Improving the efficiency of operating stations.
- Reducing fuel consumption at each station by 10%, which should be planned 300 grams per 1 kW / h.
- Reducing losses in the national network to 4%.
- Decrease in losses in the national distribution complex to 6.5%.
- Decommissioning of obsolete stations.
- Construction of new stations, optimization of location.
According to the program currently being implemented, the liquidated capacities (26.4 GW) will be replaced by new energy-efficient stations. About 150 units of new trunk substations and about 9 thousand distribution substations are planned for commissioning, and more than 300 thousand kilometers of power lines will be laid. The total cost of all work is estimated at 4.6 trillion rubles. One of the largest projects in the overall plan of reconstruction and construction was the Akademicheskaya CHPP in Yekaterinburg.
Where was built
Akademicheskaya CHPP was built with the investment funds of T-Plus PJSC in the new microdistrict of Yekaterinburg - Academic. It covers an area of about 1300 hectares, where residential buildings with a total area of funds of 9 million square meters will be raised, objects of socio-economic infrastructure will be about 4 million square meters. This urban development project is by far the largest in Russia.
In addition to residential neighborhoods in the town and all related infrastructure in the form of schools, kindergartens, and shopping centers, the buildings of the Medacademy will be built here. It is planned that the entire microdistrict will form a single cluster.
One of the schools was already opened and adopted children in 2016, the regional budget spent about 600 million rubles on its construction. The educational institution has at its disposal a swimming pool, a theater hall, a well-equipped library, a lecture hall and an atrium.
Grand opening
The opening of the Akademicheskaya heating center was a landmark event not only for Yekaterinburg and the whole region, but also for the whole industry. The project for the construction of the microdistrict and the opening of a new efficient heating plant in it became a new way of forming the living space of the city. The launch of the station gathered honored guests, among whom were A. Inyutsin (deputy minister of energy), E. Kuyvashev (governor of the Sverdlovsk region), A. Yakob (head of the administration of Yekaterinburg) and others.
The construction of the Akademicheskaya TPP and its successful commissioning demonstrate the revived potential of the country. For some time, new national projects were not carried out in Russia, science-intensive technologies were poorly implemented, there were no opportunities and programs for the effective modernization and replacement of obsolete equipment. The implementation of the first large-scale program of the Government allows us to hope for the successful solution of many urgent problems in various sectors of the economy.
Development investment
Investments in the project of the Academicheskaya TPP amounted to about 12 billion rubles. The constructed power unit, according to the governor of the Sverdlovsk region E. Kuyvashev , will ensure the energy security of the entire region and will serve as the final stage of the master plan for the development of Yekaterinburg.
The station also provides more than 160 jobs for highly qualified personnel. For industrial enterprises, there is an opportunity to increase production and reduce its cost due to the consumption of cheap energy.
Station Description
The Akademicheskaya CHPP is the final stage in the implementation of the T Plus Group's investment energy project. The construction of the station began in 2014, in the summer of 2016, commissioning activities and the readiness of the facility by Rostekhnadzor have already begun. The first energy supplies occurred on August 1 of the same year. The general contractor for the construction was the company LLC UK Asset Management.
The grand opening of the Academic CHP took place on September 13, 2016. The station has become part of the program to upgrade the entire energy system of the country. The modernization plan was adopted for execution more than ten years ago and provides for the introduction of almost 30 gigawatts of new capacity. An innovation in the program was a project financing system - a mechanism was developed to attract private capital.
The basis of the Akademicheskaya CHPP is a combined-cycle plant with a thermal capacity of 403 Gcal / h, the electric capacity is 220 MW. Almost all the equipment of the heating plant was produced at Russian enterprises, with the exception of the Alstom gas turbine unit . The operation of the CHP provides more than 200 tons of multi-storey buildings, more than 300 tons of children's institutions for preschool children and 210 schools.
Features of the new station
Before the launch of the Academic TPP, builders and engineers had to make several innovations that were not found at other facilities:
- The tower cooling tower was replaced by a compact ventilation system, thereby reducing emissions of steam into the atmosphere.
- The electro-gas switchgear occupies a site with a width of only 36 meters, previously the area for such a device occupied about 150 meters.
- The degree of water purification is increased tenfold thanks to new equipment. Such an opportunity so far only exists at the Akademicheskaya CHPP.
- All technological processes are fully automated. Experts say that more than 800 kilometers of cable were installed to ensure operation.
- The station provides the end consumer with heat at the lowest cost in the field.
- Industrial enterprises of the city and the region got the opportunity to use additional capacities, which means development thanks to the work of the Akademicheskaya TPP station (Yekaterinburg).
Address
The opening of the new heating plant was marked by several events. So, the management of the T Plus investment company handed over the “diamond” to the regional governor E. Kuyvashev - a symbolic display of the station's value and significance for builders and citizens. The heating plant has incorporated all the best and most advanced, has become the final stage of the investment program of the company and gave birth to the largest microdistrict of Yekaterinburg.
