Childhood and youth

Sergey Nikitin was born on a holiday, it was Women's Day on March 8, 1944. He was born in the troubled and difficult years of the war. His father was a soldier.

Sergey studied well at school, was fond of exact sciences (especially he was attracted to physics). In his youth, he began to write music, tried to come up with tunes to the verses of famous poets to make songs.

After leaving school (in 1962), the young man entered the prestigious Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University. Here he was waiting for participation in student performances and a successful marriage.

The talent of a young musician showed up at Moscow State University. He actively performed in student performances, played the guitar from the stage, performing songs of his own composition. Sergei Nikitin organized a quartet and quintet of musician physicists.

It was in the circle of amateur performances that Nikitin gained fame as a bard and found the love of his life. This love was Tatyana Sadykova. In 1968, Sergey and Tatyana got married. In 1971, their son Alexander was born.

Success in the musical field

After graduation, Nikitin became an employee of the Institute of Organic Chemistry, successfully defended his thesis and made a scientific career.

However, this all faded into the background, because the main thing in Nikitin’s life was music. In 1972, the singer took pride of place at the political song festival in Berlin. In those same years, the spouses Nikitina met the French composer Paul Morois and recorded with him the song “To the music of Vivaldi,” which became extremely popular.

Nikitin, telling later in an interview about his first successes, recalled that “the spirit of the times” brought him to music. In the 60s, many young people dreamed of singing songs with a guitar, however, not everyone succeeded. And Sergey Nikitin, the singer was excellent. He found his unique style, even his guitar was rare - seven-string, with a special minor tone. Therefore, he and his future wife were able to achieve well-deserved fame.

But all the same, Nikitin brought fame to the work in the cinema. In E. Ryazanov’s film “The Irony of Fate,” he brilliantly performed several songs that the audience especially loved with their lyricism and depth of meaning: “I asked ash”, “If you don’t have an aunt ...” and others (later Nikitina’s wife will perform songs in other films directed by Ryazanov).

Another work in the cinema, which also exalted Nikitin to the pinnacle of fame, was the film “Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears,” in which Nikitina’s couple performed all the songs. Quiet and good works, distinguished by soft lyricism and intelligence, were immediately remembered by all those who watched this film. Perhaps a successful selection of music also contributed to the fact that this film work was awarded a high prize abroad (Oscar for the best foreign film).

The spouses Nikitina sang and in cartoons. The most famous was the cartoon, which was released in 1979. It was called The Big Secret for a Small Company. Amazing songs sounded in it, have found real immortality. They are performed (even today) by both adults and children.

Theater work

After perestroika, Sergei Nikitin left science forever. His knowledge as a candidate of science turned out to be unclaimed. Bard was invited to work in the theater. Sergey Yakovlevich worked for several years as the head of the musical part in Oleg Tabakov’s theater (in the famous “Snuffbox”).

In 1997, the Nikitins couple for many years of work in the field of musical art was awarded the prestigious Tsarskoye Selo art prize.

In all, over their entire creative life, the couple wrote and performed music for more than 50 theatrical performances. These productions are included in the golden fund of Russian art.
