Being one of the great religions of the world, Christianity came to us during the period of the Roman Empire, at a time when there was a struggle of national and social camps for the interests of society. In this difficult period for the Jews, the current doctrine of "God" and his "Kingdom" did not reflect their problems and views, therefore, the creation of a new concept of religious teaching was required. Therefore, at the beginning of our era, the Jewish people, who were in migration, created a new religious movement, which in the third century of our era grows into a great world religion. At this time, Christianity was first adopted as the state religion by the Armenian people. Thus, Armenia is considered the first country to adopt Christianity.
The first Gospel was written in Greek, which proves that the adoption of Christianity as a religion was quite early connected with people and countries that were very different from those that it was generated.
Religious worldviews and commandments have long been transmitted orally from one generation to another. With the development of public life of people, as well as with the advent of writing, various religious trends began to gradually be fixed in writing in the form of certain provisions. Thus, religious literature appeared, where creeds were set forth. Later, some religious books gained the status of holy books by adherents of a particular belief. That is how the Bible came about.
The Bible is a collection of ancient, historical and ideological monuments that were created over the course of fifteen centuries by hundreds of authors of the Middle East, and it consists of 66 books, of which 39 are in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament.
The book contains a lot of contradictions from different eras, because it was created in a large period of time by different people. The myths of two Jewish communities reflected in it, which were the basis of the first five books of the Bible, created a number of contradictions. Thus, the adoption of Christianity and its significance for people play an important role in developing understanding between different religions and cultures. Of great importance to Christianity are the messages described in the Bible. They show that Christianity as a religion was not born around people united by a common truth. It was born in the struggle of different opinions and beliefs. Here are various points of view of the church on a number of issues that were raised before the new religion.
By comparing various materials, historical moments can be distinguished from individual books of the Bible, so the book becomes a historical document. In addition, she collected a number of literary monuments of antiquity, which were the national heritage of the Jewish people and its cultural heritage. The Bible also indicates the medical prescriptions of the ancient era, so it can be argued that it has a human character.
So, the adoption of Christianity in ancient Russian society, according to many sources, falls on 988. It was then that Prince Vladimir was baptized himself and ordered all his subjects to be baptized. At that time, baptism was carried out only among the people of Kiev, this fact laid the foundation for a long process of establishing Christianity in Russia as a state religion. After baptism in Kiev, a new religion began to be planted in other cities of Russia, and almost everywhere baptists met with perseverance and unwillingness to accept a new faith. Because of such resistance, the adoption of Christianity extended over time, for several centuries Christianity was inculcated in the Russian people as a new faith.
Christianity is now more than two thousand years old, all this time people have ambiguously perceived this religion, either rejecting it, or drawing closer to it. Recent decades have given us the opportunity to see how this happened. So, in the thirties of the last century, Christians were persecuted, they were forbidden to attend churches. However, over time and a change of power, an increasing number of people are turning to Christianity, opening new churches and temples.
Thus, the adoption of Christianity and its consequences are of great importance to us, because it has come a long enough way to establish itself as a religion and lie in the hearts of many people.
We can say that the adoption of Christianity as a religion of the state is the moment of the unification of people into a single spiritual whole.
