There are several options for diets, and all of them differ in the composition of permitted and prohibited foods. The diet for a nursing mother depends on her condition and the health of the baby, as well as on the presence of allergic reactions.
Whatever type of nutrition the young mother uses, one should know that introducing new types of products into her diet should be done one at a time and with an interval of at least 4-5 days, while all this time observing the baby's behavior, stool and cleanliness of his skin.
The diet of nursing mothers until the child is one month old completely eliminates the use of:
any meat broth
cow's milk (both home and store),
coffee and black tea, alcoholic beverages,
any pastries made from premium white flour,
sour cream
raisins,
any raw fruits and vegetables (with the exception of bananas and baked apples).
In the first decade of a child’s life, a diet of nursing mothers prescribes the use of the following products by mom:
boiled lean meat ,
vegetable soup,
baked apples and bananas,
various cereals from buckwheat, oat, corn, barley, wheat groats ,
olive, corn, sunflower oil and not more than 15 grams of butter per day,
spring water, green tea, rosehip broth, dried fruit compote.
From the eleventh day after childbirth, the diet of nursing mothers is supplemented with some products that need to be introduced in small portions and gradually:
bran baked goods and gray bread ,
boiled or baked potatoes,
boiled, baked or steamed fish,
eggs and hard mild cheeses,
kefir, ryazhenka, cottage cheese,
boiled or baked potatoes,
small portions of pasta
fresh greens
boiled, baked or stewed vegetables (pumpkin and turnips, carrots and onions, zucchini and beets, cauliflower and broccoli).
In addition to tea or in the form of snacks, you can use prunes, dried apricots and dates. Drying or bagels, biscuit, biscuits, charlotte, zucchini pancakes and crackers are suitable.

Up to six months of a child’s life, a mother should exclude alcohol and milk from her diet, and you can add to the previous composition of products:
pearl barley and millet porridge,
honey, molasses and propolis,
chives, celery, basil, tarragon, thyme, mint, oregano, melissa, savory,
Freshly squeezed juices from beets, pumpkins, apples and carrots.
When the child reaches six months of age, her mother’s menu can include small portions of seafood, fresh garlic and legumes. Do not forget that each person has his own characteristics of the body and reactions to various products. Any mother should with great care introduce every new product into her diet, constantly focusing on her baby. The diet of nursing mothers gives only generalized recommendations for the nutrition of mothers during lactation. Therefore, slight deviations from the rules are possible.
