From College to Norilsk Industrial Institute
Norilsk did not begin to create an independent university. In the postwar years, only the consultation and training center of the All-Union Correspondence Polytechnic was opened in the building of the college. A few years later, a structural subdivision of the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals of Krasnoyarsk appeared in the city, offering evening education.
In 1961 there was a union of a technical school, a consulting and training center and a structural unit of the institute. A higher educational institution appeared, which was called the Norilsk Evening Industrial Institute. It is this year that is considered the foundation year of the modern NII.
