Complications after tooth extraction, as a rule, boil down to several problems. First of all, this is secondary bleeding. In most cases, such consequences appear after the removal of wisdom teeth, since such an operation is the most difficult among other similar actions. At risk are patients who have hypertension or diseases associated with a decrease in the ability of blood to clot. It is not necessary that bleeding will occur immediately after surgery. It is quite possible that the blood appears after a short period of time. As a rule, such a reaction is a consequence of the destruction of soft tissues around an unwanted tooth. However, an allergy to the drug, which was used as anesthesia, is not excluded. Another rather unpleasant complication is a dry hole. It is called so, because for some reason there is no small amount of clotted blood at the site of the extracted tooth. As a result of this, various microorganisms, including harmful ones, can easily enter the wound. Most often, such difficulties arise in smoking patients, or those who do not follow the recommendations of a wound treatment specialist on their own. It often happens that the doctor himself can remove the clot when carelessly performing any action. Usually this becomes apparent after a few days, when painful sensations begin to appear, and the most varied: from aching to acute. This indicates the beginning of the inflammatory process, which, in addition, is accompanied by the appearance of an unpleasant odor. As a rule, when dealing with such complaints, the doctor prescribes compresses with certain drugs that are applied to the wound.
Quite rarely, but it still happens that, pulling out an unnecessary tooth, the dentist surgeon damages the jaw nerve. With this outcome, the lower part of the face and tongue may become numb. The sensations are similar to the effects of anesthesia. The duration of such a complication can be calculated in several weeks, but it does not pose a particular threat and passes on its own.
