Adhesive mastics: types, description, application

The main field of application of adhesive mastics is repair work indoors. They are used for gluing linoleum or plastic tiles to the floor. Part of the mastics is prepared directly at the place where the work will be performed, the other part is made in industrial conditions. Each type of adhesive mastic is designed for any one type of linoleum or tile. Consider the main types and characteristics of this material.

The main types

Hot bituminous mastic is widely used for gluing on concrete or any other flooring of parchment linoleum.

Cold bituminous adhesive mastic is used for gluing glyptal, polyvinyl chloride linoleums, as well as floor coverings on a fabric basis. Also, the material is used for bitumen and phenolite tiles.

adhesive rubber adhesive

Compositions based on rubber and bitumen of the "isol" type are used when laying tiles and some types of linoleum. Bitumen-rubber materials are used with glyptal linoleum, polyvinyl chloride, on a fabric basis. The same mastic is suitable for installing plastic tiles.

Bituminous kukersolno-rubber materials are suitable for gluing glyphtal and parchamine types of linoleum. Mastic is also used with plastic tiles, but this product is not suitable for rubber and phenolite analogs.

Other types

Kumaron-rubber materials are used with linoleum and tiles. But it is unacceptable to stick glyphtal linoleum with this adhesive mastic, as well as a coating on a similar, or fabric basis. This composition can not be glued materials based on glassine. Also, this mastic is not suitable for bitumen and phenolite tiles.

Rosin materials are used for glyphthalic and polyvinyl chloride types of linoleum, as well as for fabric-based coatings. With the same materials you can use lacquer mastic LS-1. You can also apply diphenol.

universal adhesive

Colloxylin compounds are used only for working with similar linoleum. Casein-cement mastics are suitable for gluing glyptal, polyvinylchloride linoleums, fabric-based floor coverings in dry rooms.

Bitumen

In fact, this adhesive mastic is universal in application. It is practiced not only for gluing linoleum and tiles. It is widely used in waterproofing and roofing works.

rubber glue

The structure of the material is a black viscous substance with a smell of resin. These compositions are produced on the basis of petroleum bitumen compositions. The composition contains a small percentage of aviation kerosene. These mastics combine the qualities of cold and hot resin, which can explain the wide range of uses.

Characteristics

Product features and specifications. You can work with the material in a wide temperature range. This is very important if the work is done in the air. Most often, bitumen mastics are used for outdoor work. The material layer does not lose its unique properties even when exposed to high temperatures.

universal mastic

The service life of mastics on a bitumen basis is on average about 10 years. As for the maximum service life, in some cases it can reach 20 years.

The product is highly elastic. This ensures the integrity of the layer, even if the surface is damaged for any reason. The coating will remain intact and there will be no tears if cracks form in the base.

The material is viscous, which is optimal for application to any type of surface. The viscosity is such that when working with mastic there will be no smudges, and the material can be applied to the surface very evenly. If the composition is used not for gluing linoleum, but for waterproofing, then a high degree of surface protection is provided.

Mastic has good adhesion with any type of material. A strong bonding layer is provided for gluing together various finishing and roofing materials on any type of substrate.

Mastic does not exfoliate and can maintain an aesthetic appearance for a very long time. It contains petroleum bitumen, anti-corrosion additives and a solvent.

With concrete, the adhesion strength is quite high - at least 1.2 MPa. The tensile strength of an elastic film is not less than 0.87 MPa.

The consumption of universal adhesive mastic for roofing, waterproofing and gluing linoleum and tiles is approximately 2 kilograms per square meter.

Rubber frost resistant

This composition is a paste in the form of a black shade. The product is based on high quality rubber. Most often used raw materials brand BK-1675. In addition, various polymeric materials and modifiers may be included.

universal adhesive mastic

The composition is universal, and it can be used immediately after the packaging is open. After using the product and completely drying the layer, a durable rubber coating is obtained. The composition is highly resistant to a variety of atmospheric phenomena and temperature extremes. Also, the layer withstands moisture and vibration loads.

adhesive mastic

Frost-resistant adhesive is used not so much for gluing linoleum as for outdoor work. Often these are roofing works - gluing of rolled roofing materials, installation of tiles. But also the composition is suitable for gluing rough plywood materials under parquet. Mastic is good in that it can be effectively used in any climatic zones.

The only limitation is that it is not suitable for use in liquid media. These are oil and oil containing products, organic solvents. Although thick mastic is dissolved in gasoline, white spirit, kerosene, and solvent. The main thing is that in the amount of adhesive mastic the amount of solvent should be no more than 20 percent.

Rubber based

Rubber adhesive mastic - adhesive, which is a black, thick, ready-to-use mass. In composition and characteristics, it is not much different from other analogues. The composition contains petroleum bitumen or its mixtures, synthetic rubber, mineral fillers, crumb rubber, resin acids of natural origin, target additives and solvents.

Rubber adhesive mastic is characterized by good elasticity and heat resistance. The material is able to withstand the temperature range from -30 degrees to +130.

Casein cement mastic

This composition, unlike bituminous mastics, is made immediately before use. To prepare, you need OB casein glue, Portland cement, as well as water.

mastic rubber glue

The glue is poured with water and mixed for 30 minutes. It is not necessary to pour all the water. They leave so much that is enough for the cultivation of cement. When the glue is ready, and the cement is diluted, the cement milk is poured into the glue. Then all this must be thoroughly mixed.

Such mastic can be used only for four hours. Then it loses its properties and characteristics.

Hot

This option, unlike cold adhesive mastics, can be cheaper if you cook it yourself. It is done as follows.

Bitumen is put into the boiler and heats up to 180 degrees. Then, when the mass melts, asbestos is introduced in small portions into it. Previously, the latter is mixed with tripoli. The entire mass is mixed until a mixture of uniform consistency is obtained. The advantage of the product is that it is inexpensive.
