Moscow is an ancient city, and it is natural that it is surrounded by various holy places about which legends go, where people go to worship and gain strength. We make a short trip to these places, visit the holy sources of the Moscow region.
In total near the city there are hundreds of holy sources, but only some of them are popular. From year to year, pilgrimage to places of power is becoming increasingly popular. So, you can even make a list of the most famous sources.
Village Muranovo
The holy sources of the Moscow region are visited by many tourists from all over the country. For example, the Barsky well in the village of Muranovo is considered a source in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. People who come here and ask God for each of them sincerely believe that now everything will change for the better. On the Yaroslavl highway from Moscow, you can reach the source by car. At the 44th kilometer there is a sign “Museum-estate of Tyutchev”, you need to turn, and the goal will be achieved.
Holy places in Moscow region - Zvenigorod
Most often, places of power that attract pilgrims are located near fairly large cities. So, a ten-minute walk from the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery of Zvenigorod is the following attraction - The holy source of the Monk Savva Storozhevsky. Those who visit the holy sources of the Moscow region are met here a log chapel with a font, where you can retire and ask the saint.
You can get here by public transport from Moscow by electric train from the Belorussky railway station. Stop Zvenigorod, change on buses No. 23, 51 to the stop "Monastery". There is a bus to Zvenigorod from the Kuntsevo metro station, then travel by buses of the same routes. You can get your own transport on Novorizhskoe highway, passing Zvenigorod, then go on the sign "Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery."
Sergiev Posad
Perhaps the most popular in the rating “holy sources of the Moscow region” is Gremyachiy Klyuch in the Sergiev Posad district, near the village of Vlyazhdnevo. This source is dedicated to Sergius Abbot of Radonezh location. Everything is arranged here to receive visitors. There is a font where everyone can
completely plunge, standing under a stream of pouring
holy water. The only negative is that there is no good access when you get off the track. However, this does not frighten the crowd of pilgrims visiting the source. It is very easy to reach by car. We drive from the Moscow Ring Road along the Yaroslavl Highway, at the 65th kilometer we turn right at the sign “Nizhny Novgorod”, then after 10 km we turn right near the village of Malinniki. Before Bogovo, turn right onto the dirt road, drive through Vzglyadnevo to the source.
These are the most visited holy places of the Moscow Region, but there are much more of them, and each place has its own history, its own saint, and, of course, has its own strength. We do not undertake to say whether these places really received a blessing from above or whether the strong faith of people gives them strength. However, they truly grant miracles of healing, fulfillment of requests and peace of mind to their pilgrims. One can only rejoice that miracles really happen and not only in children's fairy tales.
