The most popular classical music pieces are included in music ratings.

Every year, a change in musical trends is happening faster. Most music charts announce new weekly ratings for popular songs. However, classical works are classical ones in order to stand the test of time and enthrall the audience again and again. Therefore, the annual tops of the most popular classical musical works consist mainly of the same compositions. Only the place in the ranking changes.

List of immortal classics compiled by music critic Ilya Ovchinnikov

The 50 most popular classical music pieces that will make you fall in love with the classics include the following:

  1. R. Wagner “Tannhäuser”. Recently, Wagner's works have again gained popularity, having freed themselves from the stigma of music that A. Hitler loved. The mystical sound, literally exuding energy, attracts even those listeners who do not rank themselves among lovers of opera music.
  2. Symphony No. 5 of Ludwig van Beethoven is given the second place in the world ranking. However, some critics give her the podium. And not in vain, because it can rightfully be considered the most recognizable classic work.
  3. "Concert for violin and cello and orchestra" by I. Brahms. The double concert is unique in nature, because few works can boast a combination of concerts for violin and cello.
  4. I. Bach's “Goldberg Variations” - the simple, but at the same time refined sound of the work won the hearts of many listeners. It consists of an aria and thirty variations for harpsichord, each of which is interconnected with the previous one.
  5. "24 Caprices for Solo Violin" N. Paganini. This work is recognized as the crown of virtuosity, attracting the attention of many violinists.

What works have closed the top?

The second half of the rating of the most popular classical musical works was rediscovered by Bach and his “Air on the String of Salt”, followed by “The Magic Flute” by Mozart and “The Exit of the Gladiators” by Julius Fucik. Despite the rather belligerent concept, the last piece was fixed in everyday life as the main loss during a circus performance.

The rating was not without the Clair de Lune Debussy, Wagner's Flight of the Valkyrie and Chopin's Funeral March. Vivaldi’s popular Seasons were awarded 46th place, and Williams’s Imperial March business card, the last place, tore out.
