Magne Furuholmen: biography, childhood
He was born on November 1, 1962 in the working area of the Norwegian capital - the city of Oslo. In what family was our hero brought up? His mother, Annalize, received a higher pedagogical education, worked at a local school. Magne's father, Kore Furuholmen, was a professional musician. At one time he performed as part of Bent Solve's Ochestra.
At the age of 5, Mags (as his friends and relatives call him) lost his father. In 1967, a man with his group crashed to death in a car accident.
After some time, Mags had a stepfather. In the second marriage, the mother gave birth to two sons and a daughter. Our hero had no problems with the new family. The stepfather did not divide the children into friends and foes. Mags respected him. And mother and grandfather approved the boy’s passion for music.
Creation
Even in his youth, Magne Furuholmen together with his friend Paul Voktor performed in various groups, honing their skills. In 1976, they created the Bridges group, taking Viggo Bondi and Kvestin Yewanord as their team. In a short time, the guys got a small army of fans. In 1980, the album of the group, called Fakkeltog, was released. He did not have much success. But the guys did not despair. They continued to work on creating new material.
In 1982, Paul and Magne traveled to London. They stayed in this city for 8 months. Friends hoped for a rapid continuation of their careers. However, they have wasted all their savings. The friends returned to their hometown. And soon they created a new group, inviting Morten Harket as vocalist. The team received a short and sonorous name - A-ha. The guys recorded some demo tracks. And the three of us went to London. This time they returned with nothing again.
It was only at the end of 1983 that the trio signed a contract with the Warner record label. The band's first single (Take on Me) failed. But soon the guys presented his remixed version. And the track brought them fame.
To date, the creative piggy bank of the A-ha group has 11 studio albums, dozens of bright video clips and hundreds of concerts around the world. Magne Furuholmen He is not only a keyboard player and guitarist, but also the author of some songs.
