The delay in the opening of the large Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas in Krasnogorsk, the construction of which so much media wrote in due time. Presumably, the new modern church in the Pavshinskaya floodplain was supposed to be accepted by parishioners in April - June 2017. However, the timing of this grandiose construction is still delayed. The article is devoted to the project, the construction of the church and its significance.
Start
The first stone of the St. Nicholas Church was laid back in 2013. The ceremony of laying with the subsequent βRite for the foundation of the templeβ was performed on January 19 by Metropolitan Juvenaal. The religious procedure was held in a festive atmosphere in the presence of the governor of the Moscow region and the head of the Krasnogorsk district.
The famous architect and author of the project of the St. Nicholas Church in the Pavshinskaya floodplain, Andrei Obolensky, informed the guests and participants of the ceremony that the church will be the highest in the district and together with the cross will reach 53 meters. It will be able to accommodate about one and a half thousand parishioners, which is important, since almost 60 thousand inhabitants live in the microdistrict.
Project
The monolithic reinforced concrete building of the church, with a total area of ββmore than 4,500 square meters, was built on two floors, interconnected by three stairs. For the convenience of parishioners, the installation of lifts is supposed in the church. The upper church was erected in honor of St. Nicholas, and the throne of St. Andrew the First-Called will be located in the basement. The temple complex, presumably, will contain in the lower floor a baptismal hall, refectory, Sunday school, assembly hall. A chapel, an open upper gallery for singers (choirs), office space and access to the bell tower are planned in the upper temple. On the territory is planned parking for wedding processions and funeral transport, as well as a breakdown of the apple orchard.
According to the plan of Andrei Obolensky, the temple architect, church domes for each Orthodox holiday should change their color. This effect, according to him, can be achieved by a modern backlight system.
Today's construction phase
The main works on the construction of the temple in the Pavshinsky floodplain are completed. Exterior and interior decoration is being carried out, followed by painting and other decoration. In 2014, a temporary frame-and-shield church was built near the construction, where services are held by the rector of the church, priest Pavel Ostrovsky, who in 2016 performed the rite of consecration of St. Nicholas Church bells.
The church is located on Krasnogorsky Boulevard along the banks of the Moskva River opposite the pedestrian bridge, and it is expected that it will be completed in 2018.
