SUSU is one of the most beautiful universities in the city of Chelyabinsk. It is rich in universal traditions, many years of experience in graduating specialists, and an excellent reputation. It is among the thirty best universities in Russia and in the TOP - 500 in the world.
History of SUSU (briefly)
The university was founded in 1943, after the Stalingrad Mechanical Institute returned from evacuation to its native land. It was decided to create a forge of workers and scientists in the capital of the South Urals. So the Chelyabinsk Institute of Mechanical Engineering appeared.
At the beginning of its journey, the university had only two faculties: mechanical engineering and tank. But the post-war period required new specialists, and the ChMMI began to actively develop.
In 1950, the Chelyabinsk State Medical Institute was reorganized into the Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute, with which he remained until 1990. Since 1951, the construction of campus buildings (the main, laboratory, heat engineering buildings, dormitories) was actively conducted.
Sports institutes appeared at the institute (the Sports Palace, the athletics arena were built ), a printing house, a radio, a newspaper.
Since 1963, the Institute worked STEM (future "Mannequin"). Since 1968, the festival "Spring CHP" ("Spring SUSU" at present) has become a tradition.
Since 1985, the rector of the university was G.P. Vyatkin, thanks to which SUSU gained a new status and became one of the best educational institutions in the country.
In 1997, the superstructure of the main building of SUSU began, two floors appeared, as well as a tower and another spire. On the roof of the building there are sculptures of Prometheus carrying the fire of knowledge, and the goddess Nika. In front of the main entrance to the building is a monument to the student, who (according to legend) brings good luck in the session.
On November 18, 1997, the PEI was renamed South Ural State University. In 2010, he received the status of "National Research Institute."
SUSU faculties
Today in SUSU there are thirty-two faculties. Some of them are called the Institute. He received the combined faculties (for example, physical education and service and industry). Each faculty is rich in its own history. The SUSU Museum keeps records of the most important events in the life of each faculty.
The graduating departments are waiting for their applicants in the new academic year to make them real specialists, successful personalities and happy people. Each faculty of SUSU is original, profitable in its own way. It all depends on the preferences of those who go there. For example, the faculty of journalism has its own television (SUSU-TV), radio, newsroom. The Department of History conducts excavations every summer (for example, in Arkaim). Distance learning
Not all faculties of SUSU in Chelyabinsk in 2015 offer correspondence courses. It will be represented at only eleven faculties.

SUSU: Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering
It prepares specialists for work in the field of construction, cadastres, land management, as well as heat power engineering. One of the oldest and most prestigious faculties of SUSU. The Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering was founded in 1952. Since then, much has changed there. There were many modernized laboratories with equipment from the best world manufacturers. The architecture and construction faculty made a lot of SUSU applicants truly significant personalities of the city and the country (V.A. Tupikin - Minister of Construction of the Chelyabinsk Region; O.B. Klimov - Deputy Governor, etc.).
Training is conducted by eight departments with an excellent teaching staff. The Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering nurtured some professors of SUSU within its walls.
Architecture faculty
Education in architectural design has been conducted at the university since 1989, but the Faculty of Architecture of SUSU was created only in 2002. Training is conducted in three departments (architecture; design; design and the visual arts).
In addition to architectural design, urban planning and landscape architecture, students will have the opportunity to study painting, sculpture.
Despite the fact that the school of architecture of the South Urals is young enough, its graduates work successfully in their specialty not only in their native country, but also beyond its borders (Vietnam, Australia, Great Britain).
Faculty of Economics and Entrepreneurship SUSU
It was formed in 1987. Depending on what needs appeared in society, the faculty also changed (specialties “Economics and Law”, “Hotel Business”, etc. appeared). E&P works in close collaboration with St. Petersburg universities, as well as training specialists in the United States.
The faculty has eight graduate departments. The teaching staff is highly professional, it includes five academicians, fifteen professors, more than forty associate professors, as well as many practicing teachers.
International Faculty
The international faculty of SUSU is one of the youngest and most promising faculties of the university. It has six graduate departments that train international-class specialists.
The faculty is called an international business school. They implement not only domestic programs, but also learn from the experience of teaching foreign universities, including the Open University of Great Britain.
Education at the international faculty meets all international standards; upon graduation, the specialist receives not only a diploma from SUSU, but also certificates from British institutes.
Faculty of Law
Law and all nearby specialties were taught at SUSU at the Faculty of Economics and Law, but in 2003 a decision was made to create a law faculty.
To date, the graduation of specialists is carried out by seven departments, which employs thirteen doctors of sciences and about seventy candidates.
Students have at their disposal a large Law Library, a courtroom, and the forensic laboratory of SUSU. The Faculty of Law was one of the first in the country to receive accreditation of Russian lawyers.
Yurfak works closely with the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chelyabinsk Region, with regional courts (arbitration, appeal), the Department of Justice, the Department of the Judicial Department, etc.

A lot of graduates turned out to be representatives of the authorities over the years, many went their own direct way, worked exactly according to their specialty, and eventually began to manage factories and large companies. Some of the graduates are just beginning their journey in adulthood and cannot boast of such achievements. But this is only for now.
Graduates of which South Ural State University is proud cannot be counted. All of them worthily carry the title of SUSU graduate and set an excellent example to future generations of students.
