Each Russian youth is obliged to serve in the army the due time. This obligation is spelled out in the laws of the Russian Federation and is constitutional. However, not all young people are related to it. First of all, this obligation falls on people over seventeen, but there are also categories among draftees who are entitled to certain privileges.
Military duty is divided into three categories: pre-conscription training, active service and stock. Pre-drafting training is required for young men from sixteen years of age who have not passed it in educational institutions. Such training includes not only training, but also the development of military-applied sports. Each young man or girl who has received a military specialty is required to register with the district military registration and enlistment office. At the same time, young people must undergo a medical examination and receive an appropriate certificate. In addition, the attitude to military duty is noted in the passport.
A person can fulfill his military duties in two ways. Firstly, a young man can enter a military school himself or go to contract service. An alternative mandatory for all young people is the army draft - autumn or spring. It is worth noting that this obligation is by no means a punishment for βbad behaviorβ, but the duty of every man, which, however, is not considered compulsory. There are no analogues of such a civil duty in world practice.
All recruits are divided into four categories: exempted from conscription, not subject to military service, deserving deferment and subject to conscription. Only the latter category is directly related to military duty. Young men who have not undergone a medical examination, are already serving in the army and have received a degree are exempted from army service. Nor are they called upon those whose close relatives, parents or siblings, died during the performance of military duties.
Attitude to military duty does not apply to representatives of small nationalities living in accordance with national traditions. Those who are not allowed to serve in the army are not allowed to worship. Young men belonging to these categories may, instead of military service, go to alternative civilian service. Unfortunately, the law on alternative service is not yet in the constitution of the Russian Federation. In addition, citizens with a criminal record, an open criminal case, or those imprisoned are not called up.
Deferral to the army relies on representatives of five categories. The first includes young men who have some kind of temporary illness. Such a delay may be granted more than once. Army service can be postponed by men who have young children or bring them up on their own, breadwinners of
large families, or people whose
close relatives need round-the-clock care. For students of institutes, universities and graduate schools, the call is postponed until graduation. Deferral may also be associated with the socially useful profession of a conscript. In addition, a personal Decree of the President may delay military service. This category includes cadets of maritime schools and nautical schools, students of art lyceums in St. Petersburg and Moscow, as well as especially talented people - musicians, artists, writers and people's deputies.
Young people who do not fall into the above categories are required to serve the due date. Moreover, their service will be paid by the state.
Now you know who and what is related to military duty!
