Churches of Lipetsk: Christ the Nativity Cathedral, Church of All Saints, Transfiguration Church

The Russian Empire was rich in cathedrals and temples, but after the revolution they began to be closed and destroyed, and priests shot. Fortunately, this time is in the past, now the churches are open again.

Each city has temples, but not one at a time. There are more than twenty churches in Lipetsk. We will talk about the three largest of them.

Christ the Nativity Cathedral

Make no mistake calling it the main temple and architectural decoration of the city. The temple is located on a hill, it can be seen from almost all corners of Lipetsk. The history of the cathedral is not easy. Its construction began in the 18th century, and ended at the beginning of the 19th century. For a century, the cathedral flourished - it was the richest and largest parish, and it was impossible to look away from the decoration of the temple. At the beginning of the 20th century, electricity and running water were conducted into it - the cathedral competently managed donations.

But a revolution with godless power did not spare him. Although, we must pay tribute to the faithful - the parishioners defended the temple and were able to hold out until 1931. True, before this, all the temple goods were plundered by the Communists "in favor of the starving." When there was nothing to take, the cathedral decided to close.

It stood without bells and crosses until the 90s, gradually collapsing. Believers received the Christ-Nativity Cathedral in such a way that, it would seem, it could not be restored. 13 years passed, and by 2003 the temple was completely restored from ruins.

Church of All Saints

As we have said, the churches of Lipetsk are numerous. There are more than twenty of them. Among them is a very young, but already famous Temple of All Saints.

Its construction began in 2002, but finishing work is still ongoing, and the degree of completion of the temple is estimated at 80%. It would seem that there to complete. The church is small, but so beautiful from the outside that it is impossible to convey in words. The main color of the walls is yellow, the domes are golden, and the roof is dark green.

There is a Sunday school for young parishioners at the church.

The address of the Church of All Saints in the land of Russia shone: Vodopyanova Street, 19.

The history of the temple begins in the XIX century, when it was built. Throughout the century, as you know, people went to church - it was a heyday until the 20th century came. Parishioners are real heroes, until the last they defended their temple. Strength was enough only until 1939, then the church was closed, however, not for long - in 1946 the doors of the temple opened again. Until now, the ringing of the bell has convened pious people to serve.

What else to say about the church of Lipetsk, consecrated in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord? It remains to give her address: Panin Street, 1
