A poet and musician was born in the city of Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk) on June 7, 1938 in the family of an opera tenor singer and ballerina. Father (Dolsky Alexander Viktorovich) was a soloist of the Sverdlovsk Opera and Ballet Theater, his mother is a graduate of the Vaganova Leningrad School of Choreography.

Sasha's musical talent manifested itself in early childhood, he easily remembered melodies, then interpreted the compositions in his own way. At the age of ten, he entered the stage and began performing in the theater choir of boys. He participated in musical accompaniment of opera performances "Carmen" and "Queen of Spades".

In school, he learned to play many instruments, but gave preference to guitar. In 1949, the young Alexander Dolsky wrote his first song. At that time, music was his hobby, and the future poet began his career in the repair shop of the Uralelectroapparat plant, where he worked as a toolmaker for two years (1956 - 1958).

Then twenty-year-old Alexander Dolsky entered the Sverdlovsk Polytechnic Institute at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. At the end of the course, he became a graduate student in the engineering and economic department.

Musical education

Alexander Dolsky chose not to engage in scientific activities, began to take guitar lessons from a string instrument teacher L. Voinov. The training was difficult, the teacher was over-demanding and uncompromising. Dolsky mastered the technique of the game eight hours a day.

In 1952, Alexander Dolsky won the first post-war rally of entertainers, where he took second place in the guitar competition.

Since 1966, Dolsky participated in several festivals of art song. Then the poet decided to devote himself completely to art and drew up a program of solo concert activity. In the seventies, the songs of Alexander Dolsky began to gain popularity.

In 1970, the bard moved to Leningrad and got a job at the urban research institute, as a singer and songwriter went on a short tour and met with his listeners. In 1979, Dolsky finally made a choice in favor of the song-music genre. In the same year, he was invited to work in his "Theater of Miniatures" Arkady Raikin.

Recognition and popularity

In 1980, two important events took place in the life of Alexander Dolsky: he was accepted as a member of the Union of Writers, the first disc entitled “Star in the palm of his hand” was released. After a few years, the bard begins to travel with concerts to the countries of Western Europe and the USA.

The success of the performer of the author’s song is unprecedented in nature, records are sold out in millions of copies, concerts are gathered by thousands of audiences. Currently, about twenty albums with Dolsky’s songs have been released.

The musician also wrote a series of songs for Russian cinema. Among these works are the soundtracks for the films “Inn on Pyatnitskaya”, “Elder Son”, “New Scheherazade”, “When the Saints March”. In addition to songs, several poetry collections have been released: "Four Angels", "Stone Songs", "Blessing", "Blue Self-Portrait", "While You Live."

Dolsky is a laureate of the Okudzhava literary state award. He is currently an active member of the Writers' Union of Russia, a member of the editorial board of the Metropol almanac.

Personal life

Dolsky Alexander is married. His wife's name is Dolskaya Nadezhda Aleksandrovna. There are three adult sons: Peter, Alexander and Paul. Currently, the family lives in St. Petersburg.

The poet is interested in painting. From time to time, exhibitions are held in the city to display artworks painted by his hand. The paintings look as if they were made by a professional artist.
