In an effort to make their home even more comfortable and unique, many turn over piles of catalogs with wallpaper samples, learn a variety of plastering techniques, and try to experiment with textures. At the same time, sooner or later, the thought begins to flicker: but not to try decorative patterns on the wall?
The thought gradually fits into consciousness, settles in, and now you already catch yourself looking for interesting options. The study of other people's experience shows that most often people use stencils for drawing drawings.
Templates will not require you to have artistic skills. Patterns on the walls in the apartment appear pretty quickly, and the process itself is fun. Remember how in childhood you cut out stencils from paper and painted them?
Factory products are made of polyethylene sheet, on which cuts are made. The finished workpiece is securely attached to the wall, pressed, and then with the help of a spray gun, roller, sponge or brush, a colorful layer is applied. After that, the template is carefully removed. And voila! The familiar room does not recognize.
But if you donβt like other people's ideas, then many workshops will be happy to help you realize your original ideas. This will allow you to create truly unique stencils to use them to apply patterns to the wall.
And you can completely take matters into your own hands and make a stencil yourself. You will need a thick, better oilcloth material, but paper that is either saturated with linseed oil or glued with a waterproof film (tape will also do) will do. The material is applied to the contours of the future pattern. If you are not too confident in using a pencil, then print the blank on the printer. In conclusion, you need to work with a paint knife. They slowly cut through the ornament.
Patterns on the wall can be applied using traditional direct stencils, or you can use reverse patterns. What are they like? These are already familiar to us sheet materials, but they do not have cut out contours of future decor. Instead, the sheets themselves are cut out in the form of a given pattern. The workpiece is pressed to the surface, and paint lies on the space around it.
There is another, very non-standard way to bring patterns to the wall. But to use it, you have to get a projector. Remember that for small rooms this option is not suitable. The principle of decoration here is based on the translation of the selected pattern to the surface using a projector. Previously, the sketch is transferred to a special
acetate film with a thin felt-tip pen, paying special attention to the contours of the drawing. Then the film falls on the projector, which demonstrates on the wall an enlarged image at the desired angle. Now you take a brush and circle the drawing, but do it not on paper, but on the wall. In the final, you just have to βfill inβ the drawing.
When choosing patterns on the wall, try to imagine the final result. Will the drawing annoy you in the future, will it βeatβ the space of the room, will it not be too flashy. In some cases, it is better to do with a small elegant ornament or a modest border.
