The religious thinker - the founder of Islam, the prophet Muhammad - whose biography can serve as an example for every Muslim, was born in the family of a merchant named Abdullah in the city of Mecca. Disputes about the date of his birth still do not subside, but in most reliable sources the year 570 is indicated. The boy lost his father while still in the womb. Mother died when he was 6 years old. The uncle took up the education of the future prophet. From childhood, the boy worked hard and hard: a shepherd, assistant merchant, and then a small trader. Together with caravans, this curious and independently thinking young man traveled to many cities where he talked with different people. In one of these trips, he met the Nestorian monk Bahira.
