The German poet and thinker Johann Wolfgang Goethe once wrote that art expresses feelings that cannot be described in words. In each canvas, Roman Romanov, a landscape artist, expressed what he could not convey in words - the whole spectrum and gamut of feelings.
short biography
Roman Romanov, a landscape painter, was born in 1966. He spent his childhood in Kemerovo. He studied at the Kazan Art College. Later he received a higher technical education, and paints and brushes had to be abandoned. For almost 10 years he worked in the field of industrial design. Indefatigable creative energy artist Romanov Roman expressed in auto design. These were hard times of the decline of domestic industry, and designers worked on the development of logos or emblems. The artist himself considers this time "time given to prepare for the search for new means of expression." Perhaps it was these 10 years that served as the starting point in his career.
One way or another, but since 2000, Roman Romanov, an artist from God, has not let go of his once abandoned brushes. Now he continues his career in St. Petersburg. He is a member of the Professional Union of Artists.
Love paintings
In fact, it is about the love of his painting. About the love of nature, which cannot be expressed in ordinary words. Feelings of the artist find a way out and pour on the canvas, they are reflected. Each picture is a window through which nature opens, beautiful and amazing in all its diversity.
If a
winter landscape is depicted on a canvas
, then you involuntarily begin to listen to whether a branch somewhere that has broken due to the weight of snow crunches; it begins to seem that snowflakes are falling unceremoniously on their shoulders, and the frosty wind drives them away, scolding for bad manners. Having hardly woken up, the spring trickle loudly and joyfully informs the viewer about the arrival of spring, and the summer green grass invites you to run barefoot over it. Roman Romanov, a landscape painter, himself wrote more than once that he does not share his impressions of what he saw, but opens a window through which the viewer can enjoy the freshness of the
winter forest, feel the warm smell of the dying foliage in the fall, hear the noise of the forest in summer.
The secrets of his work
Confidence in every stroke of the brush, in every brushstroke - that’s what catches your eye when you see the work of Roman. This is what gives each element of the landscape such dynamism, as well as the skill with which Roman Romanov, the artist, writes. He paints paintings exclusively in oil paints. But the special effect of “liveliness” of the picture is achieved thanks to the unique technique of applying paints. There are no clear lines or sharp transitions.
It seems that a wide brush is floating over a layer of paint, so there are no stains. Many parts are made with one stroke. Due to the blur effect and smooth transitions from one color shade to another, landscapes look “alive”. The use of pastel and soft colors allows you to smooth out color transitions. In Romanov’s paintings, nature does not freeze, but continues to live — rustling leaves, rustling a stream and crunching tree branches.
