Story

In the quiet village of Natashino, in Lyubertsy, people lived. It would seem that the village should be small. But this does not apply to Natashino. In the winter, about a thousand people lived there permanently. And in the summer, when summer residents came, there were over three thousand people. How with such a crowd of people and without a temple?

Actually they were. This is the Transfiguration Church in Lyubertsy and the Assumption, located in Kosino. The temples are large, the parish has long been established, you could go to any of them.

Everything would be fine, but the Transfiguration Temple was visited by seven thousand people. What happened on big holidays is easy to imagine. It was not possible to get inside the premises, as evidenced by the residents of Natashino. They had a chance to visit the temple for Christmas somehow. More precisely, near it, because there was no way to enter. We arrived home frostbite and cold after visiting the holiday service.

It was scary to go to Kosino: the path lay through a dense forest. It gets dark early in winter, you are not in the evening services. And it’s scary to run away in the morning: after all, robbers attacked the inhabitants of the village in the forest, robberies and murders occurred.

What did people have to do? They filed a petition for the construction of their temple. It happened in 1911. Immediately a commission was created, the collection of money for the construction began.

You should not delve into the stories of paperwork: the Construction Department didn’t really want to deal with the temple. But people stood their ground. And Metropolitan Vladimir of Moscow and Kolomensk helped them. Later he will become a holy martyr, and in the 2000s he will be considered a saint.

After all the ordeals, the Construction Department gave permission. And the construction finally began - in 1912. It lasted a year, after which the newly-built church was consecrated in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity.
