Drawing is a great option to diversify your leisure. Besides the fact that this lesson gives reassurance, the joy of creativity and satisfaction, it is still useful, as it develops fine motor skills of the hands, eye, endurance, and observation. Many even with a great desire do not dare to pick up a pencil, believing that they lack talent. But these are vain fears, because with a little effort and patience and diligence, you can master the technique of drawing and create real masterpieces. There are two ways: to draw according to templates created by the masters, or from nature. For beginners, for a start, it is better to master template techniques so that the hand feels a pencil, but then you must definitely go to sketches from nature - without this real mastery you cannot achieve. This article will teach you how to draw a fern.
Fern head
Fern is an ancient plant. In nature, its many varieties are found, but all of them are stems, planted with a large number of leaves. Vaya - the so-called leaf-like organ of fern. Before you learn how to draw a whole fern, you need to learn how to portray its separate stem.
To do this, on paper you need to draw a smooth slightly concave line - the basis for the future stem. On each side of the stem parallel to each other with short, slightly rounded strokes, depict the basics (central veins) of future leaves. At this stage, the sketch should resemble a kind of skeleton, not just an animal, but a plant.
We continue the lesson "How to draw a fern." Now for each vein we βplantβ a small leaf. It has an oval shape with a slightly tapered end, on the sides - small notches. For clarity, an example is given above that you can focus on.
Whole plant
But the fern branch is only part of the plant. To get the sketch as close as possible to reality, you need to attach a lot of such branches to the main stem, as in the example above. In this case, it is important to try to observe the proportions and the correct geometry: arrange the leaves parallel to each other. If you look closely, you can see that each small twig is the main stem in miniature.
Now you know how to draw a fern with a pencil. You can make a color sketch using watercolor, gouache, colored pencils and even felt-tip pens.
Other varieties
Ferns come in many forms. How to draw a fern differently? To expand your skills, try to draw two different plants, as shown in the example above.
The basis of the first is a long flexible stem, at the base of which there is a bunch of saber-like leaves, and the top is decorated with small leaves, similar to clover.
The second fern consists of three stems connected together. Each stalk is planted with small leaves located one opposite the other.
Sometimes you may hear the question: "How to draw a fern flower?" In nature, this plant does not bloom. Fern flower is a myth, a beautiful legend of the ancient Slavs. Therefore, everyone can draw it as fantasy tells.
