Archimandrite Naum of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra: photo, biography, burial service

Archimandrite Naum - inhabitant of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. He was a devoted servant of the Orthodox Church and God. He was known throughout the country, and not only - both clergymen and ordinary people. The biography, life, death, and service to God will be discussed below.

From the biography of Archimandrite Naum

Archimandrite Naum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra was born in December 1927 in 1927 (by the way, December 19 is the feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker). In the world he was called Nikolai Alexandrovich Bayborodin. The biography of Archimandrite Naum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra originates in the Siberian village of Shubinka, Novosibirsk Region. Now it is called the village of Maloirmenka.

Archimandrite Naum Bayborodin of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra was the son of peasants: his father was Alexander Evfimovich, and his mother was Pelageya Maximovna. In addition to Nicholas, another 7 children were born in the family, but, unfortunately, they all died in infancy.

A week after birth (December 25), Naum was christened the temple of the same village.

Later, the family moved to the Primorsky Territory, and Nikolai went to school, but the outbreak of the war did not allow him to receive secondary education (he finished 9th grade Naum).

Army and study

As you know, Orthodox are not born, but become. The path of Nicholas to the church was long.

Since 1944, Nicholas, like all men of that time, was drafted into the Soviet army. The young man did not serve on the front line, but carried military duty in the aviation technical units (moreover, these were troops of command importance, Nikolai was to become a military man). He served in the cities of Riga, Kaliningrad, Siauliai (Lithuania). In 1952, Nikolai was demobilized with the rank of senior sergeant, with encouragement - a commemorative photograph next to the banner of the unit.

After demobilization, he continued his studies at school, and in 1953 he was enrolled in students of the Polytechnic Institute of the city of Frunze, faculty: Physics and Mathematics.

While serving in the army and studying at a higher educational institution, Nikolai actively attended church, and after graduating from the institute (1957) he moved to the city of Zagorsk, where he entered a theological seminary. The rector of the Cathedral of the city of Frunze signed a letter of recommendation to Nicholas, he saw in the young man a minister of the church and the Lord God and told his clergy: “Time will pass and Nicholas himself will teach you to read the Apostle.” And in the same year (in the month of October) Nicholas was enrolled in the brotherhood of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. Almost a year later (1958, August 14), Nikolai was tonsured a monk and given the name Naum (in honor of Naum of Radonezh).

Church way

Help people

Archimandrite Naum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra in 1996 actively contributed to the construction of the St. Michael's Archangel Monastery. The construction took place in the native village of Naum - Shubenke. The monastery was built on the site of the destroyed temple.

In 2000, Naum became a member of the Spiritual Council of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.

The year 2001 was significant for Naum because from that moment he was honored to become the trustee of the Lavra boarding house for children, in the suburbs (the city of Toporkovo). The boarding school is designed for 250 people.

This is a person about whom many believers warmly speak - both ordinary parishioners and celebrities, in particular the artist Nadezhda Babkina. In reviews of Archimandrite Naum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, she describes him as a person with deep eyes, in which you sink. After a heart-to-heart conversation between the elder and the singer, the latter felt warm and light on her soul, many problems were resolved and new opportunities opened up.

In addition to the cell, Archimandrite Naum also had a separate room for receiving and talking with visitors - those who need help. People in need of advice went to him from all over Russia and not only. Nahum, overcoming pain and feeling sick, always found words of help and comfort. And his prayer work has always served as an example for the whole church brethren.

During the life of the elder, many wanted to meet with him, but not everyone knew how to get to Archimandrite Naum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. For this it was necessary to come to the Lavra, and then the Lord himself will arrange everything. In general, he devoted time to parishioners every day after the prayer service (except the twelfth holidays) until 13:00, but the schedule often changed. The elder first of all received monks, priests, abbots, and after that - ordinary people. And if you stand and wait a bit, you could meet and talk, ask for blessings from Naum, and if you are very lucky, you could pass a note with a prayer. There were cases when the archimandrite answered in writing.

Reviews about the archimandrite of the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius Naum are mostly positive. He helped a lot, saw a lot. The story of one woman is a vivid example of this. She came to Father Naum in the winter, a large number of people, and she stands and thinks: “I won’t get to my father, there are a lot of people, and my question is not very serious ...”. But still she stood, prayed and looked with lust at the door, behind which was the old man himself. And suddenly Lefty entered the cell, dressed untidy, one might say, the garbage of society. Then the door opened and Naum came out. When he saw Lefty, he said: “Well, Lefty, you don’t go to church, but you like to sleep, and you’ve come to what level - you’ll already collect cigarette bulls ...” And left. And the whole line froze. And Lefty went up to this woman and said: “But father is right. I arrived this morning, everything is closed. Nowhere to buy cigarettes. Well, I shot a goby at a passerby. You see how he is Father Naum, and he sees such a trifle ... ” But that woman was scalded with boiling water - God does not have trifles. And the Lefty shamed her. Like, it’s not the first time you go to the Lavra and you still can’t understand any elementary things, just like a woodpecker.

Of course, it’s impossible to be good for everyone, even if you are righteous or holy. There will certainly be dissatisfied people. For example, some say that Naum destroyed several human souls. It seems to be like dissuading them from the treatment that they needed. But how true this is is difficult to judge. Perhaps, in those cases, there was nothing to help, all that remained was to pray and repent before his death.

Prediction

According to some information (unconfirmed), there is information that Naum belonged to holy fools and had the gift of foresight. He knew how to approach a man, what to tell him to calm down and find a solution to problems himself. And Naum simply instructed. It was a very subtle and sensitive psychologist.

Predictions, as such, the archimandrite did not. But he said one thing, which, however, is a prediction. Archimandrite of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra Naum said that the end of the world was approaching, but not because it would fall, for example a meteorite, but because there was a lot of dark power in the world worshiping the devil, and not the church, God and the gospel. According to Naum, there are 4 organizations governing the world - these are the rich (Rockefellers and Rothschilds), a secret world government characterized by greed, cynicism, the ability to rob and kill, and also taking on the right to control the life and death of the nation - the people ("Committee- 300 "), Secret conference of classified structures, consisting of influential politicians who can impose their idea of developing world politics, which in turn can destroy humanity (" Bilderberg Club "). And if these forces will spread in Russia, then the end of the world is inevitable.

Archimandrite Nahum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra said that if modern Sadducees, Pharisees, thieves, murderers and libertines will pull the rope on themselves, then the prayer of the righteous and worshipers will not save. Evil will triumph. Disasters will be inevitable. And the rope is our life, our good and bad deeds.

A few words of Naum on the centenary of the revolution

Archimandrite of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra Nahum was a smart and visionary person, able to convey information to every (or almost every) person. About the events of a hundred years ago (about the revolution), he said: “According to the sermon of one prophet Jonah Nineveh, all the inhabitants repented and were saved, and their city was supposed to die. Before the revolution, there were a lot of saints in our country! This is John of Kronstadt, and blessed Pasha and Pelageya Diveevsky and many others. After all, everyone had the opportunity to pray to the Lord God to prevent the revolution. At that time, a lot of seminaries and church schools operated in the country. But…. The country was already led not by Orthodox Christians, but by Satanists. Orthodox believers were fired from leadership positions and removed from teachers. They used to teach the laws of God. ” According to Naum, his mother went to school in 1908 and after several days said that there was nothing to go to such a school. Teachers of that time said: “Now we will build a happy life without priests and without kings!” Naum is very indignant that the perspicacious people did not take care of the people, why they allowed a revolution (a coup in the state). And, as practice has shown, in the army all the time were traitors.

Archimandrite Naum Trinity Sergius Lavra death

According to Naum, the current government worships the devil, the same people made a revolution 100 years ago and people like them already in the current XXI century have repeatedly tried to stage coups. But the president of the country was able to take measures to prevent a civil war. Fortunately, it did not reach the shooting.

In order to defeat the Satanists, it is necessary to maintain the unity of the people. It remains a mystery to Europeans how the Soviet Union survived and won the most terrible war of the 20th century. In spite of everything, the Soviet people quite quickly established the production of tanks and aircraft, so necessary for the advanced, and in this difficult time for the country, science did not stand still, but was actively developing. The authorities, faced with miracles on the fronts, ordered the restoration of the Patriarchate in the country, as well as the opening of temples and churches. Churches and chapels were very actively opening in the occupied territories.

On September 4, 1943, a meeting took place in the Kremlin of Stalin with Sergius (Stragorodsky), Leningrad and Novgorod Alexy and Nikolai (Yarushevich). And at that moment it was decided to open the Lavra and resume the theological courses.

Archimandrite Naum believes that good rulers are needed for our state. With whom you can consult and not blaspheme the name of God, then people will become kinder. And surely every Christian person must keep the commandments, as they are given to everyone. Observance of the laws of God must begin by studying these very laws, you need to read the Bible, the gospel, go to church, pray, receive communion and confess.

The more often a person confesses, the more he sees behind himself sins. And those who go to church from time to time or do not go at all do not notice sins behind them. And how can such people live happily ...?

And the recognition of gay marriage is generally unacceptable to humanity, as well as gender change. Naum opposes the sale of land of the Russian state, against the killing of children, including the unborn, against sodomy and fornication. If such phenomena occur on Russian soil, then the end of the world is not far away.

Naum was positive about the changes taking place in Africa. On this continent, many people adopt Orthodoxy, abandon Islam and preach Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary.

Before the revolution under the Tsar, people believed in God, the church was one with the state. Schools were church, and people were taught the commandments of Christ there. They taught how to raise a moral generation, to value and maintain a family. Abortion at that time was prohibited, and the Russian nation persisted and multiplied. During the twenty years of the reign of Nicholas II, the nation increased by 50 million, and after the revolution began to decline very quickly. Abortion in our time is not prohibited, unborn babies are killed and killed, and the country really needs people (warriors, scientists, and teachers).

Finally

Archimandrite Naum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra is an old man, a resident, confessor of the late XX century and the beginning of the XXI century. You could say a contemporary. Even the whole world knew him, but far from a considerable part of it. The father went through a life path and in the status of a military man, and now, after his death, he acquired the status of a warrior of Christ.

Possessed the gift of raising monks. It is impossible to count how much he raised the hegumen, abbess, bishop to serve the Russian Orthodox Church and God. In fact, all those who were at his funeral service and funeral, he himself tonsured a monk.

But he was not only an example for the monastic fraternity to follow, but also for ordinary people, pilgrims. He instructed those suffering and in need of help, made it possible to analyze himself, his actions, make the right choice, which subsequently had a beneficial effect on people's lives.

Father Naum told all people who came to him: “Read the Law of God - the Gospel,” and blessed everyone to study it. Indeed, reading this literature helped to solve many problems of life. There were times when he presented various divine literature to people.

Father Naum strove for his life to become the gospel. And by the way, in this very book, in all its parts - there were 89 chapters, that was how old the old man was when he died.

For the monastic brethren, Father Naum personified the very concept of “Christ in the bosom.” Whatever the fuss is around, but in the Lavra near Naum it is always calm and heartening.

Nahum was not verbose, but his every word was spoken at the time it was needed. Just one word - and people began to think a lot.

Father Naum left an inheritance in the form of his works. According to his multivolume patristic alphabet, the current monks and monasteries, both female and male, restored with the blessing of an old man, have already learned. And besides the monasteries, with them there are gymnasiums, parish schools, shelters. In general, Naum always wanted the church life to live, and now it comes to life.

Rest in peace, faithful servant of Christ ...
