It is perhaps difficult to find another object in the night sky, endowed with the same mystical, religious and astrological significance as the constellation Cygnus. This combination of stars is clearly visible in the sky above the northern hemisphere of the Earth. The brightest
the sun of Swan, its "alpha", bears the name Deneb. By brightness, it is quite a bit inferior to Vega, although it is located six hundred
light years from Earth. The Beta of the Swan, that is, the second brightest star in this constellation, is called Albireo. This double white-yellow luminary, together with two minor stars, forms a cross-shaped pattern, thanks to which the constellation received its first name - the Cross. At the intersection of two imaginary lines, Sadr shines.
In addition to very bright stars, the constellation Cygnus contains several more mysterious objects, such as Cygnus X-1. Scientists suggest that this source of x-rays is the first "black hole" discovered by astronomers. In addition, there is a diffuse nebula in the constellation, which has received the name "North America" because of its shape.
It is noteworthy that the names of all the stars that make up the constellation Cygnus are of Arab origin, and in Russian they represent the organs of the chicken. For example, Deneb is translated as “chicken tail”, and Sadr in Russian means “chicken breast”. Unlike the Arabs, the Greeks saw in a cruciform pattern
beautiful swan. It was this bird that Zeus turned into, going on a date to Leda. This bird is found not only in Hellenic, but also in Indian mythology. One of the main gods of Hinduism, Brahma, is called the Great Swan, and his wife - the Swan Goddess. It is from this legend that the expression "swan fidelity" was born.
If other peoples invested mainly mythological meaning in the constellation Cygnus, then the Russes also attached isoteric significance to it. They considered this celestial object to be Iriem, the place where the souls of the ancestors live, and where the soul goes after the funeral pyre. Of course, the constellation was identified with the mythological character - the pagan Swan Goddess, however, some sources call it the birthplace of the Svyatoruss. According to ancient records, the ancestors of the Svyatorusses, the blue-eyed people of the Sva-ha clan, moved to Midgard precisely from this constellation. The ancient genera of Tibet and India are associated with this constellation.

The bird itself was worshiped among the Russians. The constellation, named after her, symbolized good luck. In the famous Altai barrows were found figures in the form of swans made of felt. Protective, "swan" totems were considered female amulets. Such talismans endowed the woman with a delicate taste, beauty and charm, helped to meet a faithful lover. The Vikings considered the swan a bird of luck and judged by its flight about the future campaign.
Equally high meaning is put in the constellation Cygnus and modern astrologers. It is considered the vehicle of the highest universal spirituality. With this constellation is connected the fate of not only humanity, but the entire planet. Ufologists, who believe that extraterrestrial guests come to us from one of the stars of the Cygnus, did not ignore this object.
