The village of Karabidai was located near the Altai Territory. Its inhabitants at that time lived extremely poorly, many huddled in dugouts. Terentyev’s family managed to move to the Crimean peninsula some time after the birth of the baby.

Before being drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army, he decided to help his parents and got a job at Perekop PMK-36. From the memoirs of Terentyev
Alexander Terentyev often recalls the period of work in Noyabrsk in his interviews. The most valuable quality in colleagues at work for him was the ability to responsibly treat the assigned business. The enterprises of the Tyumen region and Surgut State University left their mark on its character. Northern conditions forced a lot of attention to be given to mutual assistance and a sense of unity. Bureaucratic delays and negligence were completely unacceptable in such conditions.
Work in the field of oil production allowed Terentyev to meet worthy people, communicating with whom, he came to the conclusion that a person should achieve everything in life himself, with the help of his own forces. Energy is drawn from team work, as well as supporting like-minded people and their own families, ”said Alexander Terentyev.
Building your own business
Since 2000, after VV Putin came to the leadership of the state, which activated the development of domestic production, Terentyev decided to start his own business. He was interested in the construction and production in the food sector. In 2000, he headed the Board of Directors of PFK-Dom and took up the post of president in Altaiholod.
This period was remembered by him as a constant struggle with the arbitrariness of officials and the unscrupulousness of some leaders. Much effort had to be devoted to the struggle aimed at improving the enterprises. Terentyev managed in a short period to create a team that turned Altaiholod into the largest and most successful industrial enterprise. In "P.F.K.-House" he implemented innovative construction and housing projects.
Party activity
December 2, 2006, Fair Russia in the Altai Territory formed its own branch. At this time, the party included the "Party of Pensioners", "Life" and "Homeland". Terentyev immediately became the head of the regional branch of the united party, which at first included 1240 members, and a year later there were 10,400 “Just Russians” in Altai.
Each district in the region has acquired a local branch with a public reception, where they can provide real assistance in various matters. The Regional Council of Deputies has created a permanent deputy group, which is working to increase social support to residents of the region by amending legislative acts. The regional party branch has carried out a lot of work on the implementation of measures, as a result of which sports grounds have been built in the region, assistance has been provided to kindergartens, citizens' rights are constantly protected, and various social problems are being addressed.
Terentyev about party work
According to Terentyev, a lot of time and effort went into the fight against bureaucracy and political idleness. To prove his case always has to be only real things. He and his like-minded people made an informed choice in politics, which gave confidence in their team strength and allows us to achieve continuous improvements in the lives of ordinary residents of Altai.
At the end of 2007, Terentyev was nominated by party members to the State Duma.
Flood protection
In September 2015, as a State Duma deputy, Terentyev asked the prosecutor of the Altai Territory, Yakov Khoroshev, to evaluate from a legal point of view the decision adopted by the regional administration regarding the procedure for paying out funds for the overhaul of houses destroyed in the 2014 flood. The deputy decided to advocate for the Altai victims of unfair payment conditions.
The adoption of this decision took place a year after the flood. By this time, many of the victims of flooding at the expense of their personal funds tried to solve the housing problem. In this case, some of them remain without legal compensation.
For example, a rural resident from Chekanikhi turned to Terentyev, who was denied compensation because she had a share of seven and a half square meters in the regional capital. Many took loans for repairs at various banks, and since they performed restoration work, they do not get on the lists for compensation.
The public reception of the deputy received a large number of complaints about this. Residents of such areas verbally and in writing addressed: Bystroystoksky, Krasnogorsk, Charyshsky and Krasnoshchekovsky. An appeal to the head of the region with a request to cancel the aforementioned resolution with a large number of signatures of residents of the Ust-Pristan district was sent earlier by the head of the Just Russia regional department Svetlana Khoroshilova.
In defense of agricultural producers
In March of this year, on behalf of his faction, Terentyev proposed exempting agricultural producers from excise taxes on diesel fuel. He put forward such a legislative initiative in connection with the fact that a bill was passed in the State Duma, according to which excise taxes on all types of fuel increased from April 2016. According to the Just Russia party, wide circles of the population will suffer from this law, in particular, it will hit the agricultural sector. Agrarians, Terentyev believes, should be protected at the legislative level from such attacks by the authorities, otherwise agriculture in the Altai Territory will simply die.

According to the politician, this is a clear attempt by government officials to blame crisis problems and their own shortcomings in overcoming them for ordinary workers. A particular danger is that excise taxes on fuel rise at a time when actively sowing. Every spring for Altai agricultural workers is remembered by the search for additional funds for the purchase of fuel, so its rise in price will cause irreparable damage to the economy of agricultural enterprises.
Terentyev has many other initiatives of this kind.
