Short suras for the prayer of a faithful Muslim

The great Allah in his boundless mercy sent the Holy Quran to people, filled with enduring knowledge, tearing more and more depth of wisdom in front of those reading this holy book. Those who delve into it constantly find revelations for themselves or support in all life situations. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was chosen by Allah in order to write down this book, which contains vital knowledge about the Almighty and the path to Paradise. The Qur'an consists of separate chapters, suras, each of which is a pearl of wisdom. Constantly penetrating into the sacred words, the Prophet once said:

I feel the same desire and passion for prayer as you have for food, drink and intimate relationships.

prayer is the keys to Muslim Paradise

Where did the opinion about the importance of short suras for prayer come from

Often among believers there is an opinion that every faithful Muslim should know by heart all the surahs following the β€œElephant” (al-Fil). They are small in size, and they are often called short suras for prayer. This is a non-canonical requirement, not entirely in line with Islam. It is better for a Muslim to know as many passages from the Qur'an as possible, regardless of their size, because the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of the Lord be upon him), having special reverence for the guiding Word of Allah, did not sing out any specific surahs or verses for prayer. and long suras such as Al Bakar (Cow). But at the same time, one cannot say that he insisted on a long prayer, on reading large suras. In the hadith, a story has been preserved that tells us about the wrath of the righteous Prophet. The reason for this anger was just a long prayer. However, this story refers more likely to the imams, but do not forget that every faithful believer illustrates the faith professed by his life. If people see that some person has been on the same prayer for too long, this can push away from Islam. This is precisely what the Messenger of Allah was guided by when he said in anger:

Oh people! Among you, there are those who repel [people from religion]. If any of you becomes an imam, then let him perform the prayer for a short time, because behind him are the weak, the elderly and the needy.

As for the rules for prayer, here Muhammad (peace and blessings of the Lord be upon him) left a special instruction on the importance of observing the times for prayer, not tying them to a specific hour, but following the position of the sun. There are also special rules for prayer that relate to the procedure for performing an action during prayer.

General rules for reading the sura

Holy quran

When the dawn of the new day began, the Prophet (peace and blessings of the Lord be upon him) prayed, recited short verses of the Qur'an for prayer and small verses. Suras, which require more time to read, are recommended to read when all important matters are behind, when a Muslim is at home, at rest. Converts are advised to begin prayer by reading short suras, for example, al-Asr, al-Qusar, al-Falyak.

It is also worth remembering that when reading short suras for prayer in transcription it is impossible to discern the correct pronunciation of Arabic words, just like in any other language, there are sounds that have no analogues in the Russian alphabet.

During the morning namaz-farge, the prophet Muhamed began his day with a reading of al-Kaf, al-Bakar, on the second rak'ah, the Blessed One read at Tur, al-Ihlas. The Friday prayer of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was marked by the reading of sur al Sajd and al-Insan.

The most common short suras

In general, the least that a true Muslim can limit himself to is reading Surah al Fatih. Prayer will be valid if a person confines it. But it will not be superfluous to read anything else from the Qur'an. A reading with reverence of any ayah will be sufficient, but the imams believe that it will be better if it is not short.

Zuhr (midday prayer). The longest of the obligatory daily prayers is recited in this prayer. Here you can read the surah of al-Fatih, then another surah or several verses are pronounced, but no less than three verses that follow in a row. It will be appropriate to read Surah An Nasr.

Features of evening prayer

against the sky

The fourth prayer is evening, maghrib. As it is written in the Hadith from Ayyub, the Messenger of the Almighty (peace and blessings be upon him from the Lord) said: "Welfare and well-being will not leave my followers until they begin to leave evening prayer until the stars appear."

During the evening prayer, after reading al Fatih, one can read the surah of al Bayyin.

The last prayer is Isha, which is performed after the glow from the sun disappeared in the west. Time for Ish lasts until the first signs of a dawn is beginning.

Nothing pleases Allah more than namaz, which is the key to Paradise. In addition to the already mentioned short suras for prayer, it is appropriate to memorize the following, but not limited to only them: Sura al Ihlas, Tahiyat, Salavat, 201 ayat of sura al Bakar.

The Importance of Namaz

It is worth using common short surahs for prayer with translation and transcription, this will help to better understand the meaning of prayer and also improve knowledge of the Arabic language in which the Holy Quran is written.

In his daily life, every faithful Muslim should try to become like the Messenger of Allah. Therefore, do not forget the important words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of the Lord be upon him):

Namaz is the support of religion. The religion of the one who leaves the prayer will collapse.
