Police To The Police! New Clothing Form.

The appearance of a uniform (uniform dress) has its roots in very distant historical events when every man was a warrior. Even in those ancient times, on the battlefields there was such a need for soldiers to distinguish their comrades-in-arms from enemy troops. Even then, the soldiers, going to war, tried to wear clothes of the same color, or used some element of clothing that would set them apart from afar.

Over time, a special form of clothing for military personnel appeared, which fundamentally differs from civilian clothes. Although it corresponded to the style of the modern era, but individual elements often passed from era to era, and, disappearing for a while, reappeared in a modified form.

Russian empire

So, during the time of the Russian Empire during the reign of Peter the Great, a military uniform appeared for the first time, sewn like a Swedish one. She was quite easy to use and convenient, but not much different for the infantry and cavalry. During the reign of Paul 1 , military reform was carried out, which led to the emergence of a new form based on models of the Prussian army. Thanks to German pedantry, the uniform of the imperial army acquired noble features and emphasized the neatness of the officers.

There was something graceful in this, but some elements of clothing caused great inconvenience to the officers. For example, very narrow pants that were rubbed during hiking and patent leather shoes, which turned out to be completely unsuitable for infantry.

Thus, achieving one effect (beauty and neatness), the practical side of uniforms suffered significantly.

Red Army

After the famous historical coups, the revolution of 1917 , when the Red Guard workers and peasants detachments appeared, the uniform completely lost any single idea. The newly formed groups of revolutionary-minded people were completely scattered, they were united only by one thing: a bandage of red fabric on the shoulder with the inscription "red guard".

Gradually, the Red Army was dressed in Soviet uniforms, which existed with minor changes and additions until the collapse of the USSR.

In modern times in the Russian Federation there is a law that states a uniform military uniform and the rules for wearing and changing this uniform. Until this year, the form of clothing was very different from the Soviet one, it was simpler and much more convenient. A single olive color was established for officers , and black was traditionally used for the Navy . Shoulder straps indicated to which rank and what kind of troops the officer belongs.

Modern form

However, by presidential decree of March 1, 2011, old imperial traditions are revived again. The police will again patrol on the streets of Moscow. The change of the familiar police uniform to the police will be introduced gradually. Thanks to this, the population, and even the officers themselves, can safely get used to the newfound historical name.

The police uniform is currently being developed by Russian couturiers Valentin Yudashkin and Igor Chapurin, as well as by the Central Research Institute of the Clothing Industry.

In March 2011, at the show of model houses led by the aforementioned fashion designers, some variants of the new police uniform were already presented. It has quite a lot of similarities with its historical predecessors, for example, the astrakhan hat, which was widespread in imperial times.

The new form will be easier and more functional, thanks to the latest modern materials. However, according to the creators, this will require quite large material costs. And they estimate a beautiful new police uniform at 25 billion rubles.
