Stas Namin and the Flowers group were popular with listeners in the 70s and 80s of the 20th century. This is the group with which the “domestic non-format” began. "Flowers" were among the first to perform rock music on the domestic stage.
Stas Namin
The real name of the musician is Anastas Mikoyan. Namin is a pseudonym that was formed on behalf of his mother by Nami. He was born in 1951. Stas's father was a military pilot, his mother a musicologist. The artist’s childhood was spent traveling around the garrisons.
The mother raised the boy. She introduced him to music and literature. M. Rostropovich, D. Shostakovich, A. Khachaturian, G. Sviridov, A. Schnittke and others often visited their house. Stas's first piano and harmony teacher was A. Babajanyan. At the insistence of his father, the boy continued the family tradition and graduated from the Suvorov Military School. It was there that he met with rock music. In 1964, he created his first group at the school.
Stas Namin is a multifaceted personality, he is not only a musician, but also a producer, photographer, composer, director, artist. The group “Flowers” ​​organized by him brought him fame. In addition, he is the creator of the very first production center in our country. Thanks to him, many performers became famous.
The very first music festivals in Russia began to be held by Stas Namin. He organized private enterprises, a design studio, a concert and sports agency, a television company, a radio station, clubs, restaurants, a record company, a trading company, a publishing house, a lamp technology laboratory, and educational projects. And also the country's first musical theater. Stas writes music for theatrical productions and films, presents his art projects in museums and galleries. He conducts experiments with writing ethnic and symphonic music, participates in expeditions and in ballooning festivals in his own balloon.
“Flowers” ​​- 20th Century

The Flowers group was created by Stas Namin in 1969. At that time he was a 1st year student of the Institute of Foreign Languages. At first, the group performed at school and student evenings. The repertoire consisted of foreign compositions. The first own songs of the “Flowers” ​​group are “Flowers Have Eyes,” “My Star” and “Don't.” In 1973, they were recorded and launched for sale. Unexpectedly for all, the records of “Flowers” ​​were sold in seven million copies. In 1974, the group was invited to perform from the Moscow Philharmonic. "Flowers" went on tour, gave 3 concerts a day. The Philharmonic earned a lot of money on the group. Due to too much work between the musicians and the administration, a conflict has occurred. In 1975, "Flowers" were accused of promoting Western ideology and banned by the Ministry of Culture. Despite this, in 1976, Stas Namin managed to reassemble the group. In 1986, the “Flowers” ​​world tour took place. After him, the group was suspended for 10 years.
“Flowers” ​​- the 21st century
In 1999, the Flowers group was again assembled by its leader and creator S. Namin. Two years later, the musicians gave a concert in honor of their 30th anniversary. Actors of the current composition and those who worked in the ensemble earlier participated in it. In 2009, the group "Flowers" celebrated 40 years of its existence. For this event, the musicians timed the recording of the album "Back to the USSR", which included the best songs. A year later, in honor of the 40th anniversary, a concert of the group was organized. After that, several more albums were released. The songs of the “Flowers” ​​group are known and loved by listeners of different generations. In 2014, concerts were held in Moscow dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the ensemble. After that, “Flowers” ​​went on a world tour.
Alexander Losev
Alexander Nikolaevich is the most famous soloist of the Flowers group. It was he who sang the most popular songs of the ensemble: “Flowers have eyes”, “We wish you happiness”, “My clear star”, “Lullaby” and so on. He was a soloist of several VIA, but it was the Flowers group that made him famous. When the ensemble ceased to exist for 10 years, Alexander worked in a car repair shop. In addition, in the 90s, the artist's parents died. And then, from a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 18, the only son died, who was the soloist of the dance ensemble I. Moiseyev. Then Stas Namin again invited him to work when he revived the "Flowers". In 2003, the artist underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. Alexander died of a heart attack in 2004.
