Song stories are events that inspired the creation of a text about the meaning of life, about love, about great things.
"Blood type..."
The well-known song "Blood Type" appeared in 1987. For the first time it was performed by the Kino group at the fifth festival at the Leningrad Rock Club. Later this hit sounded in the popular film “The Needle”, directed by Richard Naumanov, starring Victor Tsoi himself. Thanks to this picture, the composition has gained popularity for many years.
The stories of the songs of the young collective have always been surrounded by legends and intricate inventions. Some believed that the "blood type" appeared in the same 1987. Others were convinced that appeared much earlier. But those and other listeners were united by one thing - a love of a strong text and a combination of the upcoming changes over time.
Nautilus
After the popular songs of Tsoi, including this composition, the Nautilus group quail. And new waves of speculation enveloped her story. They said that the singer Butusov confesses in the plot “I want to be with you” that is connected with him personally. For example, that this is a story about a girl who wrote letters to Vyacheslav for a long time when he was in the army, and, having not received a single response message, the lover hanged herself. But in fact, this is not true, because Vyacheslav himself never served in the army. Although this became known a few years after the release of "Blood Type", and only thanks to the articles of reputable newspapers of that time.
Other fans said that the song was about the artist’s wife, who died in a fire. At that time, plausible facts from rumors were difficult to distinguish.
But in fact, the history of this text is much simpler. Creating songs and poems for the author Ilya Kormiltsev was a stage of a dispute with friends. Once he said that he was able to compose a verse with a chorus in 10 minutes, while he was waiting for a meeting with his girlfriend, although the first line of the song - “In a room with a white ceiling ...” - Butusov borrowed from another poem. Ilya’s participation was limited only to the compilation of the text, despite the fact that the cover of the released album indicated the co-authorship of “Prince of Silence”.
"I wanna be with you"
But when Butusov first sang the song “I want to be with you” to his acquaintances and friends, they did not accept it. Many considered her too "poppy." The performer himself perceived the song as a personal revelation. This is a story about a man who comes to the knowledge of love as part of the world. Why this composition was loved by the courageous “tramp”, fans understand only with time. Similar emotions need to be experienced independently in order to appreciate the depth of meaning and the original poetry of the text.
“Ugly Elsa”, “Crematorium”
Particularly interesting are the stories of songs of the Crematorium group. For example, ugly Elsa, published with the album Coma in 1988.
The prototype of the main character is a real person from the Yama beer store, where Grigoryan always spent his free time. The woman gained fame because she could willingly run away to a nearby stall for a drink. For this, she was often awarded a free glass of fiery water.
Despite such a negative image, Elsa - a woman who always loved the truth, was honest. She never deceived a single visitor. That is, she always returned with a drink to those who sent for her. Grigoryan himself recalled that he once had to drink with local authority, who sent Elsa for vodka. But the store opposite has already closed. This did not stop the woman. Everyone believed that she would not return, that she had taken the money and disappeared. But suddenly Elsa appeared at the door, and in her hands was a can with pure medical alcohol.
The heroine won respect from all visitors to the Pit present at that time. Grigoryan had always considered her a colorful lady before that, and now the image was complemented by honesty. The epithet “ugly” came from a completely different story, which occurred much later.
"Crematorium"
Songs of the 80s have unexpected roots. Once, Armen and his comrades were visiting a friend, but suddenly the writer Venedikt Erofeev suddenly came. And then the plot developed as in the planned scenario. All guests, as expected, drank wine, and with them the landlady sipped a glass and went to rest.
When the food on the table was over, Erofeev, being drunk, looked around and saw an aquarium full of exotic fish. On this day, the fish were unlucky - they got into the pan. Despite the fact that the fish were very expensive, Japanese, this did not stop the hungry man. When the hostess woke up, she was in shock. In a rage, she drove everyone out. Armen remembers that that evening, the hostess in an old rumpled dressing gown sat hugging with an aquarium, scratching something on his glass with thin nails slightly peeling from varnish. The author immortalized this picture with the line “Like a little animal, you scrape the glass with your claws”.
So an unforgettable text (a song about Elsa) of the Crematorium rock band appeared, which proves once again: excessive drinking of alcohol always ends badly.
As for the song “Ugly Elsa”, she was on the list of the most beautiful, best songs of rock music. For several years, she was ordered by listeners on the radio. She sounded several times a day, which once again proved her popularity among the youth of the 80s.
"Sunday"
But the songs of the group "Sunday" have less speculation. The “Night Bird”, which entered the repertoire, was dedicated to drummer Fokin, whose fate brought to live in America. Therefore, her first name was "Farewell to a friend."
Nikolsky himself said in his memoirs that the song appeared due to the longing of a failed group that broke up, not yet firmly on the stage of popularity. The collapse of all hopes led to the creation of such hits as "When you understand with your mind" and "I myself am from those who hid."
All popular songs were performed in the same 1979 by the soloists of the new group "Sunday". For lovers of Russian rock, this is the beginning of a new life, a taste of freedom and male logic.
