Two years ago, a magical fairy tale for children and adults was released - “Maleficent”, with the inimitable Angelina Jolie in the title role. The actress is the idol of millions, and it is not surprising that her screen image Maleficent wanted to try on a lot of people. Such sorceresses began to appear at costume parties, as well as walk along the roads during Halloween.
Rick Baker himself encountered some problems while working on the image. Initially, he planned to make a copy of Disney Snow White, but plans changed when Angie was selected for the role. Her bright appearance was to play a role in the image. Makeup artists painted the main character in several versions - with horns and pointed ears. But Jolie also wanted to change the shape of her cheekbones, to make them more pronounced.

For a memorable image, silicone pads on the cheekbones, nose, ears, and sharp teeth were used. At first they experimented with forehead and chin prostheses, but subsequently abandoned this venture, because I did not want to completely copy the cartoon image. For the same reason, Maleficent's skin is not as pale as on posters, and not as green as that of a cartoon character.
Maleficent, whose makeup had many nuances, differed from the originally planned image. The matte skin tone was achieved thanks to the Poppy Select Covever concealer, which is a tone paler than the actress's natural skin color. It was applied with a wet sponge, blush in makeup was not used at all.
Cosmetics that made a vivid look
Since the overhead parts of the face were attached with glue, Jolie was threatened with skin irritation, because its daily use plus a thick layer of makeup strongly clogged the pores of the skin. Their highlight was that thanks to a special prism, the natural colors that were present in the iris of the actress intensified.
