Birth of jesus christ

Jesus Christ is a very bright historical figure. Scientists find the most diverse information about its existence to this day. Although fifty years ago, Jesus was considered a mythical character of ancient legends. Of particular importance to all believers is the birth of Jesus Christ. After all, it is with this name that the Christian religion is inextricably linked .

Jesus is the Hebrew name, or rather its Greek version (in the original "Yeshua"), it translates as "Salvation, God's help." Christ is a translation from Aramaic into Greek of the word "messiah" ("anointed", the messiah). The story of the birth of Jesus Christ is very interesting. He was born in Palestine, the city of Bethlehem. This city is located near Jerusalem. Today, Jerusalem is practically bordered by it. The exact time of birth has not been established. It is only known that at that time Augustus reigned in Rome, and this is approximately 750 year since the foundation of Rome. Subsequently, the reckoning will be from the birthday of Jesus. Islam, for example, recognizes Jesus as a prophet. Christians consider him a God-man with a higher power. The birth of Jesus is described in different literature in almost the same way.

The mother of Jesus, Mary (now the Blessed Virgin Mary, or the Virgin), when she was still a child, made an oath that she would serve only one God all her life and would never marry. But fate decreed that Mary early left an orphan. The fourteen-year-old girl, according to the laws, could no longer live in the temple. She had to get married. The priest in the temple knew about Mary's vow and decided to help her. He married her to an eighty-year-old man, his relative, whose name was Joseph. He lived in the city of Nazareth, by that time he was already widowed and had children.

And one day Mary saw the archangel Gabriel. He appeared to notify Mary that the Lord blessed her and chose her as the mother of the Son of God. He also mentioned the name of the child and said that the Holy Spirit would soon descend on her. The angel of God came to Joseph in a dream, said that Mary would soon give birth to the Lord's Son, and the birth of Jesus Christ would save mankind from sins.

Joseph and Mary were forced to leave for Bethlehem. Some sources refer to the census of Judea. Each person had to be recorded at the place of residence of the ancestors. Upon arrival in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary could not find a place to sleep, they had to go to the usual stable. In the night, Mary gave birth to a boy. But the Birth of Jesus Christ is also associated with the appearance of a bright star, which was seen by the sages of the East. They knew about the imminent coming of the messiah. When they saw the star, they followed it until it brought them to the birthplace of Jesus. Entering and bowing to the baby as a king, the sages gave him their gifts: incense, gold and myrrh. Gold for Jesus the king, incense for Jesus God (incense was used during worship) and myrrh for the person who dies (the dead were rubbed with aromatic oils).

Upon learning that King Herod was killing all newborn babies, since he was also notified of the โ€œcoming of a new ruler,โ€ Joseph and Virgin Mary flee to Egypt. There they spent about three years. After King Herod died, Mary and Joseph returned to their native Nazareth. The story of the birth of Jesus Christ also indicates that the messiah was circumcised and obeyed the laws of the Torah. Soon after reaching the age of thirty, he accepted the rite of baptism in the waters of the Jordan River. Immediately after this, Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness, and when he returned, he began to preach. Jesus is the symbol of the โ€œtrinity of Godโ€ in the Christian religion (God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, God the Son). To this day, scholars have not been able to recreate the true biography of Jesus, because few historical, not biblical, information has been preserved. In the Gospels, information is often duplicated, and historical sources contradict each other. So the existence of Jesus is only a matter of faith, an unsolved mystery of the present.
