After the schedule of the Church of All Saints on Krasnoselskaya, we turn to the main milestones of its history.
History of Krasnoselsky All-Holy Temple
The first mentions in the annals of the Red Village date back to 1480. It should be noted that the place where the temple was built is one of the most ancient settlements of the capital. The settlement was named after the Red (Great) Pond, its area not inferior to the Kremlin of the city.
The next historical mention is already 1837. Then the Novo-Alekseevsky monastery was transferred from the center of Moscow to Krasnoye Selo. In the years 1887-1891. the All Saints Church was built in his new cemetery according to the plan of the architect A.A. Nikiforova. The structure was unusual and grandiose:
- Three-headed high bell tower.
- Internal painting, executed by the hands of the Trinity Tsergiev icon painters.
- Iconostasis of white stone according to the plan of architect N.I. Chichagova.
- The tomb in the basement.
By the beginning of the last century, there were already four churches on the lands of the Alekseevsky monastery - All Saints, Archangel Michael, Holy Cross Exaltation, the man of God Alexy. Only two managed to survive the Soviet era - All Saints and Alekseevsky. In 1926 the monastery was closed for many summers.
During the Soviet era, the Church of All Saints on Krasnoselskaya partly served as a production building, partly as a repository for archives. He was transferred back to the Russian Orthodox Church in 1991.
All Saints Krasnoselsky Church is one of the few that miraculously survived the Soviet era intolerant of religion. Today he lives an active spiritual life; morning, evening services are regularly held there. Many believers come to the Krasnoselsky Church of All Saints to venerate its miraculous, ancient icons, the Reliquary Cross.
