Any finishing should be done efficiently and carefully. Wallpapering the room is no exception. A lot depends on the quality of work. If the walls are simple enough, then decal the wallpaper in the corners can be difficult. Even in newly renovated apartments, perfectly angled corners are very rare. And any, even the slightest distortion leads to the fact that the wallpaper is inflated, burst or creased. Therefore, the sticker of wallpaper in the corners requires attention and accuracy of execution. There are some subtleties, knowing which, you can achieve perfect joints.
Pasting inside corners
To do this, glue the cloth on one of the walls so that it enters the adjacent wall for 2-3 centimeters. It is necessary to ensure that the wallpaper is strictly vertical. To ensure the correct location on the wall, using a plumb line we draw a line along which we glue the cloth.
If the angle is very uneven, it may be necessary to cut the overlapping part on an adjacent wall. Sometimes only in this way can the wallpaper fit to the corner. If the paper is thick, it is better to use a special glue that thoroughly grease the edge of the panel, then press it with a special sponge.
Now on the adjacent wall, using the same plumb line, mark the line for gluing the next piece of wallpaper. The distance from the corner to the line should be less than the width of the roll by 2-3 cm. We have the panel, adhering to the drawn sign. We cover the part of the wallpaper that enters the adjacent wall with glue for joints and smooth it thoroughly.
Now, armed with a building level or a ruler (preferably a metal one) and a sharp knife, we immediately cut off both allowances strictly in the corner. The upper cut-off part is easily removed, and the one that was under the panel, we take out, bending the edge. We glue it again with glue and squeeze it carefully. Sticking the wallpaper in the corners in this way allows you to achieve the perfect fit.
Pasting outside corners
If the outer corner is perfectly flat, then pasting it is very simple: you just need to wrap the cloth, carefully making sure that there is no air left. If the angles are uneven, you will have to use the following sequence of actions.
Glue a strip of wallpaper on one of the walls, positioning it so that the edge protrudes 2-3 cm, smearing it with glue for joints, wrap it, smooth it, making it lay down smoothly. If this fails, then incisions can be made in several places. We cut off the wrapped edge with a sharp knife, leaving a very thin edge around the corner, which will not be visible through the top layer of wallpaper.
The second canvas must be positioned so that its edge protrudes around the corner by 5-7 mm. Glue the second strip of wallpaper, wrapping with an overlap. It can also be treated with glue for joints and carefully pressed. For these purposes, you can use a mixture of wallpaper and PVA.
Using these secrets, it is possible to achieve that the sticker on the wallpaper in the corners will give perfect joints, and this will greatly benefit the overall appearance of the room.
