Not far from Moscow, in Skhodnya, several Orthodox churches are located. The most significant of them are the Holy Trinity Church and the church in honor of the Orthodox patroness of these lands of the Blessed Matrona of Moscow.
Trinity Church
Trinity Church in Skhodna was built on a stop in 1903 at the expense of local residents. It was a small wooden church without heating and a bell tower. Divine services were held only in the summer, and mainly summer residents visited it.
In 1909, the church burned down, and it was decided to build a new stone temple building. The work was carried out under the guidance of the architect Flegont Voskresensky. Construction lasted only one year.
In 1910, a new church was consecrated in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, and divine services began.
In Soviet times, the temple was closed. In 1936, all values were taken out of it. Within the walls of the church, the authorities arranged a warehouse, then a cinema. In the 80s, sculpture workshops were located there.
Speaking about the history of the Trinity Church, it is impossible not to say about E. Konstantinova, E. Korobkova and N. Baklanova. They were active parishioners of the temple before its closure in 1936. Women were arrested on a false denunciation and accused of counter-revolutionary activities. Konstantinova was shot, and Korobkova and Baklanova died in custody.
Now they are counted among the holy New Martyrs and revered by the Trinity Church.
Recovery
In 1990, the Trinity Church was returned to the Orthodox Church. For two decades, it was undergoing reconstruction and beautification of the temple.
By 2000, domes, a belfry, iconostases in both limits were restored from preserved photographs and drawings, and five domes were installed.
The Holy Matrona of Moscow spent her last years of her life in Skhodna and often visited the Trinity Church. In memory of her, in 2001, a chapel was built on the territory of the temple, which is often confused with the Cathedral of the Blessed Matrona of Moscow, located nearby. About the temple of this lady of the servant of God will be written below.
In 2005, masters were invited from Vladimir to paint the walls, with which the icon painting was done according to old Russian models.
In 2006, additional premises were built on the territory of the temple, which included: a baptismal building, a refectory and a Sunday school.
By 2013, the Church of the Holy Trinity in Skhodna was fully restored to its original form.

At the church in 1998, a Sunday school was opened, in which children from seven years old are accepted. Her goal is the religious, aesthetic and moral education of young parishioners. In addition to studying the Law of God and liturgics, children are engaged in drawing, choir singing, needlework and acting.
Training is free, because Sunday school exists through donations. To enroll the child’s parents, it is enough to submit a written petition addressed to the rector of the church.
On Sundays, Trinity Church hosts theological courses for adults. Everyone can familiarize themselves with the basics of Orthodox dogma and worship.
At the temple in 2013, a youth group was created. The purpose of her education is the further religious education of young people, the development of their creative abilities.
The participants of the group carry out a great social work, which consists in helping large and needy parishioners. The forces of the youth group are cleaning the church of Shodnensky and its territory. Young people are actively involved in organizing parish events.

Matrona Moscow Temple
In 2004, a community was organized for the construction of the Matrona Moscow Church in Skhodnaya. During the year, a plot was allocated for construction.
Every Sunday, directly in the open air at the site of the future church, parishioners gathered and clergy held a prayer service in honor of the blessed Matrona of Moscow. The akathists singing Matrone was carried out regularly during the construction period. Despite the fact that there was no shelter from the weather, future parishioners came here every weekend.
In 2006, a change house was equipped on the territory of the church under construction, where the Divine Liturgy was held. By January 2017, the wooden church in Skhodna in honor of Matrona of Moscow was completed and consecrated. Parishioners have already celebrated Christmas in a warm church building. Bells were installed and consecrated a little later on the belfry.
Despite the small height of the temple, visually it resembles a candle. This effect was due to the fact that the design of the church is made like a tent temple. The temple has one head and one throne.
In the church of Matrona of Moscow in Skhodnya there are particles of her relics, which many Orthodox people from all over the region flock to bow to. She today helps all those who ask, who comes to her relics and icons.
In Moscow and Skhodnaya, Matronushka left her mark forever - here she spent the last days, then she died.
Temple activities
The church is actively involved in social activities aimed at helping the poor, the disabled, victims of the fire and families who find themselves in difficult life situations.
Sunday children’s school “Svetlitsa” was organized, where young parishioners have the opportunity to study the history of the Orthodox Church, the Law of God, choir singing and just play with each other. Toddlers come here on Saturdays, and children who attend worldly schools come on Sundays.
With the blessing of Archpriest A. Gakhov, in 2010, the youth movement “Orthodox Drops” was created at the church. The club’s goals are to educate young parishioners and instill moral and spiritual values in them.
Members of the group help in cleaning and decorating the temple, participate in charity events and temple theater performances. Several local schools and the Vera rehabilitation center in Khimki are spiritually nourished in the temple.
The church organizes pilgrimages for parishioners to the significant holy places of Russia. Famous temples and monasteries are visited. All trips are accompanied by clergy.
It is currently planned to begin construction of a large stone temple. This place is located on the territory of the current wooden Matrona Church of Moscow in Skhodna and is marked with a cross. A construction plan has already been developed, but there are still not enough funds for its implementation.
