There are various ways to park a car in a city. Recently, it has become increasingly difficult to find free space for a car. It is often difficult to occupy a particular space. In these cases, parallel parking is indispensable. This driving element in many situations is the only option.
Of course, learning how to do parallel parking and practice skills is best at the training site. This method is used in cases where you need to put the car between two others located on the same line one after another. At the same time, the distance between them must be sufficient to accommodate at least 2 vehicle lengths.
There is a certain sequence, following which the driver can safely put his car.
Parallel parking begins with moving forward in first gear. Keep a low speed until the machine reaches the second conditional machine on the right. Between cars there should be an interval of about 0.5-1 meters. Next should stop.
After you need to start moving back. You should move until, while looking through the glass of the rear right door, you will not see the back of the car (or a mark imitating it), behind which a parallel parking is planned. As a rule, in most cars this window consists of two parts: a window and a window that opens. It should be looked precisely at the window. After the back of another car appears, you should make two turns with the wheel to the right - towards the parking lot. At the same time, it is necessary to keep the machine at minimum speed by adjusting it with the brake and clutch pedals.
Performing a turn, you need to move your eyes to the left rear view mirror. The movement continues until the right part of the bumper of the car, which is standing behind (or a mark imitating it), appears in it. Next, align the wheels. To do this, the steering wheel should be rotated to the left, squeeze the clutch, slightly braking (in case the car has gained a little speed). After you need to stop.
If all the movements were correct, then the car will stand at an angle of 45 degrees to the proposed parking spot.
Parallel parking continues in a straight backward motion. You should look at the front of your car to the area of ββthe right wing. Movement is carried out until the right side of the bumper located in front of your car is not flush with the left side of the bumper (rear) of another car. This will be a signal to start the next movement.
Next, you need to perform a maneuver that allows you to take a parking space, that is, turn the car. To do this, unscrew the steering wheel all the way to the left, release the clutch and start moving. Attention is concentrated on the right mirror. Thus, the approach of the rear of the machine in front should be controlled. It should be remembered that the car is standing in the back (this is especially important if the place was originally chosen not quite right and the parking distance of your car will be small).
After your car takes a place behind the one in front, and the axis is parallel to the curbstone (or the line indicated by marks or flags), you should align the wheels and stop. The machine must be put on the hand brake and shut off the engine.
If the parallel parking was performed with errors, then the car will stand unevenly with respect to the curb stone, and there will also be insufficient space for moving backwards and so on. In this case, you should go to the starting position and start moving again.
